“Lovely staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 21, 2013

We stayed here on a living social dinner, bed and breakfast deal. Not much to fault on and i would just be being picky if i did. Meal was lovely, staff were brilliant and we had a lovely stay. Would reccomend this place easily.
If i have to do my picky bit then i would say the 14inch t.v in our room was pointless and window was a bit drafty but heating made up for that.

Stayed for two nights on business, and for the money my room was fine. I felt comfortable as a single female traveller and the staff were friendly and polite. The water in my room was scorching hot which was great for a bath but made it hard to get the shower right without burning my hands. Took me five minutes to get it cool enough. The hotel was clean, seemed to be really well run and there was a nice atmosphere. I ate both nights in the bar, and can recommend the Tagliatelle Bolonaise which was beautifully cooked and very tasty. I rarely eat dessert, but after the first night I felt it would be a crime not to try another one! Delicious. Overall a very comfortable stay, relaxed atmosphere and good quality food which as a regular traveller ticks the boxes for me. I would be very happy to stay here again and probably will. Free wifi is also a bonus

This could be a premier Inn/Travelodge etc, but it isn't. It delivers about the same quality, though the menu in the restaurant is a little more interesting. Room warm and clean, staff welcoming etc etc. I was only there for the overnight, so didn't explore the area, but if you're looking for decent overnight business accommodation, thit fits the bill just right.

The hotel is good for business travelers who need just a place to sleep. Nothing fancy but adequate. Room was out dated, window could not be closed properly what made it being cold in the room. There was a ventilator going on/off the whole night. Not good for a good rest.

Just ok.no a la carte, huge room with our table of 8 , one other couple and freezing cold, trying to warm the place with portable heaters, young serving staff who I don't think had been trained on service, but he did his best.. the meal , though the concept was nice when reading, was poorly put together, especially the beef and duck A birthday meal disaster. The bill was brought to us before we had finished our meal, saying they wanted to till up !!!!!!. Will not return nor would I recommend to my worst enemy

I have stayed many times in this hotel and find it very convenient for travelling to both Widnes, St Helens or Liverpool with easy access from the M62. As usual I found the staff very helpful and friendly and they went the extra mile to accommodate me in the room of my choice. I had dinner in the hotel's revamped restaurant and ate from their new menu. It was absolutely delicious and reasonably priced. Although I was on my own I felt very comfortable and almost managed three courses before deciding I had eaten enough! I had wild mushrooms with quail's eggs followed by a beautiful piece of cod on diced, roasted potatoes and accompanied by a nutty and buttery sauce with a lovely tasty foam. Also chose fresh French beans with almonds. The pudding was a tablet of chocolate with an orange ball of sorbet and a very delicious white chocolate truffle. All for £22.95.

Very limited menu. Food not as described in menu. No a la carte. Mediocre wine list. Attractive restaurant and helpful staff. We discussed our disappointment and were treated well by the maitre d. Few diners in a large restaurant, which could be stunning.
