I booked the hotel for my boyfriends 21st birthday present and in with the price we got dinner in the resturant, breakfast the next morning and one 30min treatment each in the spa.
In general, the stay was really nice.
-The rooms are lovely, very modern and clean with a big bed and tv. The tv also plays into the bathroom so you can listen while your in the bath, shower ect. My only complaint about the rooms ( and im being fussy) is that the pillows are really soft. Plus, we only got one towel to share between the two of us.
- The resturant at night wasnt as good as i was hoping. The food quality was ok, but they lacked on basics like a steak knife. Everything was VERY overpriced with small portions- but i guess thats expected with al a cart. Also, the atmosphere in the resturant was dreary. It was so quiet and awkward i barely even wanted to speak as everyone around could hear your every murmer. Also, another negative for me was the amount of buisness men and groups of men in suites everywhere, not many familys or couples.
-Breakfast was great, lots of choice in the buffet and also a cooked breakfast however once again, the poritions where really small. If i had paid £18 (the full menu price) for the cooked breakfast i would have felt extreamly cheated!
- We then had the spa treatments, where i choose to have a manacure. I really wanted a pedicure but the lady on the desk said that treatment wasnt available that day- with no explanation why. The manacure seemed rushed, the lady put 4 coats on in the space of ten minutes and it wouldnt dry even an hour later and peeled off during the day which was such a disspointment.
-Reception staff- really lovely and helpfull, couldnt ask for better.
Generally a great stay, the rooms are the best aspects of this hotel.

Just returned from a 1 night break with our friends. Lovely spa treatments and our husbands played golf and really enjoyed it. Breakfast was lovely and the rooms excellent. Got a groupon offer and was not disappointed Definately value for money.

This hotel is in a beautiful location and is set in picturesque grounds, which confirmed my view that the nicest places are often reserved for golf courses - shame. The room was nice enough and the hotel has a nice circular bar surrounded by windows, which gives a nice panorama of the gold course and surrounding countryside. Unfortunately the prices were so high that we didn't actually drink in the bar . As the cheapest bottle of wine was £21 and it was over £3 for a glass of coke we saved our money for drinks with our meal. I know hotel bars are generally expensive, but this was over the top. I was also somewhat turned off by the fact that the bar's TV was tuned into football come Saturday night. How delightful for all those people who think bars are for a nice pre dinner drink - and conversation. The night got a bit more odd when we got to the restaurant and found they couldn't serve us quickly enough. We would literally order something and within a minute it was at the table. Rapid service is great in Macdonalds but it felt as though they couldn't wait to get rid of us! They also tried seating us next to the entrance where we would have had a procession of people queueing next to our table all night waiting to be seated. When I asked if we could sit further into the restaurant (there were any number of free tables he could have placed us at) he moved us but said "someone has got to sit there". Thanks for being so accommodating! As it turned out, he didn't seat anyone else there. My meal was actually lovely (although I could have done with some vegetables) but my boyfriend's pork was really bland and the caramelised apples tasted like soap. Really odd! The eggs benedict breakfast that my boyfriend paid a supplement for was awful and made him feel ill. The spa was nice enough, but for some strange reason it didn't have a jacuzzi, which is a great refuge for people who think the sauna is too hot and the pool is too much like exercise, so a really obvious thing to have in a spa. I was woken up during the night more than once really loud drunken chatting in the corridor and woke up in the morning with a really painful neck because the tiny feather pillows didn't support me at all. It's a shame, as this night away had been booked as a Valentines getaway treat and we'd really been looking forward to it. I can't help thinking it could have been so much better than it was.

I went away with my partner for my 21st Birthday. I have always wanted to do a spa weekend and chose this lovely venue as we found it in the magazine. As we arrived the staff in the hotel was lovely and very polite. Our room was lovely and very clean. Was very impressed but we then went down to the spa to book our trearments only to be told that there wasnt any. It was fully booked. I was very disopointed to travel three hours away to have no treatments at a spa weekend away. We was never told on the phone that you had to book additional treatments in advance. No one told us any information on booking about any treatments. We was just asked what one treatment would we like as this came in our package. Which was originally booked for two treatments but we then recieved an email saying it is now only one and refunded some money as they changed the package..still no mention of booking and paying for treatments. The staff in the spa wasnt very helpful or wasnt interested to show you around. We was very disappointed that we didnt recieve what we went away for and will not be returning to this spa again. We also like go to the gym but while booking, again no one made us aware that there was even a gym there so we did not bring the correct clothing. I do not think our money was very well spent that weekend and i am a little gutted.

Staff were pleasant and attentive. Rooms were 4 star, modern, clean and spacious. Food was al a cart. Spa treatment was very pleasant..... Gym was small but sufficient. Swimming pool was nice and they had a rock, aromatherapy and regular sauna with an ice room ( you would have to be very brave to venture under the ice shower) would definatly go again. Set in a lovely location.

Stayed here for business. Room excellent - biggest I have ever stayed in with large sofa and walk in shower. Breakfast is very good and plentiful, but over priced at £17.50 per person. Evening meal in the bar was very tasty, but £12 for sausage and mash (3 chipolatas and a spoon of mash) is over priced as was the wine at £8.45 a glass for standard fayre. Used the swimming pool a few times which was excellent.
Overall, very nice hotel with friendly staff, but prices charged for meals and drinks are not justified - Tarporley village is not far down the road(you can walk it) and has a varied range of very nice and reasonably priced restaurants - even with a taxi there and back, you will still save if having a meal and drinks compared with the hotel prices.

Had 2 day spa break with daughter. Lovely setting. Food good. Spa not quite as good as some we have visited, all smelt a bit fusty. Duvets not quite big enough for single beds.. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Not easy to find if approaching from Nantwich rather than Chester.
