“Lovely Hotel - well recommended”
Reviewed February 20, 2013

The Swan is a great hotel/pub located in the heart of a beautifully quaint town.
We came to The Swan for an evening out/stay over and it was lovely.

We stayed in a double room, although when we called they only had a twin room, but they went out of their way to make sure that we had a double room when we arrived. The room was clean, tidy, quirky in dressed with the traditional old style and character of the hotel/pub. The room came with an ensuite bathroom, plasma TV, Tea and Coffee, Bathroom amenities etc.

We stayed for breakfast in the morning, and it was easy to get a table and we were served quickly and politely, with good food too!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, even though it was only short and sweet.

The hotel also had a car park which was useful, but there is also plenty of parking just outside on the high street.

We would highly recommend this hotel as it has a great feel about it and excellent customer service.

The need was for a reception with small eats and tea/coffee etc for around 40 people. This followed by a dinner for 11 persons and stay overnight for 10.
The hotel provided excellent service, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was fine. No problems. All went as planned.

Room Tip: room 5 is on the front any can suffer from traffic, but is an excellent room

We booked here to stay on Valentine's night as my partner was working close by and we wanted to meet up for dinner as a treat. I have never been to Tarporley having only driven past on the bypass and mainly booked here because of location. I got a special deal for the night and the hotel booked us a table for dinner incase it was busy. As soon as we arrived we were pleasantly surprised not only by the quaint town but by The Swan located right in the heart. First impressions surpassed our expectations, and we happily relaxed at a table in the bar for a evening drink. We checked in and were shown to a lovely room in a separate coach house out the back. It was clean with a big ensuite bathroom, a plasma TV and crisp white sheets. Dinner was excellent, great selection and good quality and we shared a very reasonable bottle of red wine. We really enjoyed our stay at The Swan, this place has a great feel about it and with excellent customer service we would thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking for a stop over or a weekend stay. Plus as a bonus is nearby Cheshire Oaks for some cheeky bargain shopping. Car park out back but if this is full there is plenty of parking just outside on the high street.

I stayed on 5th Feb for work reasons.. Upon arrival I was upgraded to a Fantastic room, the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. My room (5) was a large double room with a really old bed, amazing thick mattress and high quality bedding. I needed to leave at 06:45 and as breakfast didn't start till 7am I thought I would have to give it a miss. I was wrong, the lovely staff arranged for breakfast to be available from 6:30 am for me and they even provided me with a takeaway! The evening menu is very contemporary and I ordered the belly of pork. It was really lovely. I paid c.£60 B&B and it was superb value for money. I would definitely recommend a very comfortable stay at this hotel to anyone for either business or pleasure :)

We stayed at The Swan Inn in Tarporley for 1 night with some friends in February. Tarporley itself is quite small but has some nice upmarket independent shops and cafes. It is around 10.5 miles(22 minutes) from historic Chester and there are plenty of things to do and see in the surrounding area. From the moment of arrival the staff couldn't have been more helpful. We had booked our rooms on an internet site which charged us £60.00 per room with breakfast (it was a Sunday night) which was excellent value for money. On arrival we were told we had been upgraded which was nice, and the rooms were spacious with tea and coffee facilities and a very nice, warm, clean, nicely decorated/furnished bathroom. We had Sunday dinner in the restaurant which came in either a smaller or larger portion, which is always good, and I have to say it was delicious. The wine list was quite extensive and reasonably priced. Our rooms were at the front of the property and because it is an old coach house hotel with single glazing it was quite noisy as morning arrived, but nothing you couldn't cope with. Breakfast was served up until 11am which gave us a lovely unhurried morning. Yet again the staff were faultless and the breakfast was plentiful with all the usual cereals, pastries, juices, yoghurts etc and a large choice of cooked items. We didn't feel at all rushed and enjoyed our breakfast immensely. There is no question that we will definitely be making a return visit, and hopefully soon!!!!!

Had Sunday lunch here a couple of weeks ago and I can recommend it. 3 good slices of sirloin of beef and plenty of vegetables. You have the option of small or large portions so if you want to save yourself for the pud go for the small. Staff were friendly and helpfull and I would definately go again.
