“Brilliant venue, brilliant vehicles and a brilliant instructor”
Reviewed December 15, 2013

My wife receieved a voucher for the experience from Land Rover, we had been on Land Rover events before, and had high expectations, and we weren't dissapointed. The venue is a "mock" castle on the top of a huge rock outcrop, the Experience centre nestles just inside the main courtyard and the staff were very welcoming. After doing the paperwork and enjoying a coffee, we were introducted to our instructor Ed. He did an amazing job of guiding us around the maze of forest tracks, up to a scenic hi spot, were we could just about see the LR plant at Halewood, we would have seen more but for the dreadful weather. we then headed back down visiting an old quarry where all manor of purpose built obstacles show the amazing abilities of these vehicles. Having survived the spectacular slopes and angles of this area we returned to the castle, for another coffee to calm our nerves.

“Great day off roading.”
Reviewed December 13, 2013

I was bought a whole day experience from my wife. It was great from start to end. I had the very capable discovery for the three hours in the morning, there were 20 mins of technical instructions from a great instructor, Andy. Then in the afternoon after a great 3 course meal in the castle restaurant, in was my turn in a £85000 Range Rover Sport. A different vehicle altogether but great fun through the mud and water for another couple of hours. Also went on the purpose built track up hills of 45 degrees and then down. There were several different obstacles to get over.
Highly recommended.

“Driving but with a twist (a bump and judder!)”
Reviewed November 9, 2013

Very disappointed that I couldn't book a driving experience at Oulton Park (one of the reasons for staying at Peckforton) So opted for the LR Experience with a little trepidation it has to be said. We were running a bit late but Charles greeted us with a friendly smile and told us to check-in and take our time. Then out in a 95k Range Rover through some amazing woodland tracks and into the quarry - which I can only describe as a skate park for 4x4's! Surprisingly exhilarating at 3 mph! If you have already booked go for the LR Defender for what I feel would be a more involved experience. Very good set up and something different. (ask about room discount if staying at hotel).

“Very Informative, Great experience”
Reviewed November 1, 2013

A great half day out. After purchasing a new Range Rover we decided to go on this experience so that we could use our vehicle to it's full capacity. We found that it was very informative and we learned a lot about the different controls and their uses. Driving on the off road course was also a great way to put what we had learned into practice. It wasn't as scary as I thought it would be but it also helped to build your confidence driving on difficult terrain. Lot's of tea and coffee and very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Highly recommended just for fun or for serious off roaders.

“Fabulous experience!”
Reviewed October 31, 2013

We were invited to take a 'Land Rover' experience after purchasing an Evoque. What a thrill it was! Our instructor Ed was just fantastic and clearly loved both his job and Range Rover cars!

Nothing was too much trouble, Since we bought the car we had not been brave enough to use the automatic parking - Ed made it look easy and we both parked successfully under his tutelage.

Initially Ed drove us to the top of the tracks - where he very obligingly took some pictures of us. Then it was our turn - wow! We enjoyed ourselves so much!

The highlight of the afternoon was a section of bridges, 1 in 2 gradients, (or at least that's what it felt like!) and manoeuvring over humps with two wheels off the ground. Needless to say Ed drove this part.

Overall we had just a wonderful afternoon!!!
