“Under-appreciated”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 2, 2012

This is a good place tucked away on the main street in Tarporley. The food is good - nicely cooked and original with a variety of dishes and tastes. It is absolutely not a run-of-the-mill Chinese so if that is what you want look elsewhere. There is a variety of dishes nicely presented with both flavour and texture. Service is attentive but feels slightly amateur. It is quiet at the moment, so it lacks atmosphere. However, we enjoyed going and would go again.

“Okay but very quiet.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 8, 2012

Found this place by accident one Sunday night when 12 of us stayed at the local golf hotel.

There was only one other couple in when we arrived and they were finishing up and left not long after.

We all ordered the set meal with various soups for starter (the Hot & Sour Won Ton soup was great) and the duck for the middle course. No complaints at all.

Our main course was a selection of all of the meat options on the set menu shared amongst the 12 of us. They were all quite good.
The restaurant ran out of 2 different types of bottled drinks while we were there, not good.

The service was very good.

“We had quite a good meal in Etasia”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 30, 2012

My daughter has eaten in this restaurant and says the food there is very good, and she invited us there for a meal tonight. It is situated on the high street of Tarporley,a modest and quaint country village. It was Sunday evening and we were quickly seated as it was very quiet. There are a lot of choices in the menu, Chinese and Thai dishes.

The tempura king prawns as a starter with soy sauce was tasty; the fish cakes were not bad and the Tom Yam Gung (hot sour with prawn) soup was reasonable. We have had our fair share of Tom Yam soup and have developed quite a good taste bud to this wonderful soup, the soup here is average.

As for the mains, we ordered Hot Beef with mango, Beef Randang, King prawns in sesame sauce and the mixed sea food stew in clay pot. I must say the dishes were average to good.
Beef Rendang originates from Malaysia and the Beef Randang here was not bad, although it did not quite live up to the original dish itself. The mixed seafood stew was cooked in a hot and sour soup base with rice in the bottom the claypot.

It was a good evening and we had a good meal in Etasia, a restaurant that brings a fusion of Chinese and Thai dishes.

We will visit the restaurant again.
