Found this place while walking around on a weekend away - called in and they managed to find us a table. Although the wait was a little long we had not booked and they were busy and did apologise for the delay. We only ordered four items from the menu but on arrival found the quantity very small and wish we had ordered more, on request we did managed to get portion of garlic bread to bulk things up. Having said this the food was fantastic and tasted great. The staff were all very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Worth a visit but would recommend you ordered at least 3 or 4 dishes each with a side or two.

Visited Picchu on a whim as we happened to be in Sandbach for the evening. We tasted 7 dishes between us, including calamari, patatas bravas, glazed pork ribs and marinaded chicken.

The food arrived very quickly to our table and the service was attentive.

When the food arrived, it was all cooked very well: chicken tender, ribs well cooked, calamari soft and well textured.

However, every dish we ordered arrived - to our palates - entirely under seasoned. Dishes which were by their nature supposed to contain warming paprika or pungent garlic - contained at most a very subtle hint of flavour. The bravas sauce was at most a cooked tomato sauce. The herb and garlic mushrooms had a piece of garlic wafted over them then removed. There was neither salt nor pepper on the table - which, when food is properly seasoned is entirely appropriate - but when the food is so muted in flavour it seems entirely lacking.

After an amazing meal in Gracia, Barcelona, the humbler dishes of tapas done well have become something to treasure. Unfortunately Picchu by dialing down the flavour did nothing to bring back those great memories of Spanish and Catalan food. Instead I particularly felt I'd eaten earnestly but healthily - a flavour-free grilled chicken skewer, plus a couple of initial bravas before I lost my motivation to continue eating.

After our meal, our waiter asked us what we thought of the meal. My dining partner took the bull by the horns and explained that the dishes lacked seasoning and spices, and this had made the meal disappointing.

He seemed surprised but his response wasy 'yeah ok, fair play' - rather than a proper apology, he listened, said 'yeah, ok' then turned and walked away. That response definitely surprised me. They made no effort to reconvert us as diners by handling that feedback well.

This is somewhere different. We loved the buzz of the place. There was a good variety on the menu, although we were disappointed to find that about 5 things from the menu were unavailable. Nonetheless the service was really good and we enjoyed our visit very much. We'll be back.

Picchu is definitely worth a visit. We had a wide selection of tapas and all of the dishes were tasty and well-prepared. We didn't have any that disappointed (and we tried quite a few!)

The service was very good - attentive and friendly and you definitely got the feeling that they were concerned that you had a good experience and went away with a positive impression.

The décor is modern and well laid-out (the previous restaurant at this address did tend to cram tables in as I remember). We will definitely be returning - if only to try some of the cocktails which sound well-worth sampling!

Staff were friendly, restaurant looked very nice. Food very disappointing, it tasted pre-cooked and warmed up. We were sitting in front of the kitchen hatch but didn't hear any evidence of food being prepared and cook from fresh. The food could have been vert tasty if it had been cooked as ordered, I am not convinced that a qualified chef is in the kitchen.
