Description: THE BLUE BELL INN The Blue Bell Inn is one of the very few 16th Century Inn's left. It was taken over by the current owners in July 2008. They introduced home cooked food, fine wines and a warm welcome. The popularity has lead to an extension being required to accommodate more dinning space. This creates space for another 60 diners in the restaurant, which has been designed and built keeping the 16th Century theme throughout. The restaurant is accessed directly from the large car park via a gently sloping ramp allowing wheelchair access, or through a new archway from the pub. We welcome families and have a dedicated childrens play area outside in the garden.

“Decent food and nice country location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 2, 2014

This was my local back in the 80's when it was just a great country pub. Major expansion has added a large dining area and the food is above average for pub grub. Ate here twice over the Christmas 2013 holiday and service was excellent.

“Slightly dissapointing”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 23, 2013

This Inn is just 5 minutes from the M6 in a nice location. We arrived after a 4 hour drive with a further 3 to go.The Inn looks like it has been refurbished recently. The food was OK, service was fine but we did expect a bit more. Having said that the pie of the day was superb. This is in an ideal position if advertised properly as it is 5 minutes from Sandbach services and much better food on offer. There are alternatives in the area

“Another Find in Cheshire”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 5, 2013

My wife and I have frequented this pub since 1983 and it has always been consistently good. When it was owned by the brewery, it was typical English country pub food. Since it has changed to a freehold, and had a gorgeous expansion, the food has improved to be that which would be appreciated by a gourmand. The staff is attentive, management cares, the atmosphere is friendly, and the environment rural. Dining either in the garden or inside is a very pleasant experience. Recommend you take a turn off the busy roads and visit this establishment. You will not be disappointed.

“Nice location, building and beer garden”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 17, 2013 via mobile

A lot of money has been spent on this place in recent times - a big extension, car park extended etc and its not quite the little country pub it was when we used to go in 2002/3/4 but its still a great pub for a drink and especially in the summer in the beer garden. The front bar still retains its character and is a great place to wallow away time and relax. We love the location and area but were disappointed in the food. It's average pub grub at best and a bit of a let down. Having said that, the staff are friendly and on the ball so it's recommended to visit for a relaxing pint and perhaps a sandwich - we just feel there is room for improvement in the kitchen. If I lived closer, I would definitely be more of a regular.
