Love the glasshouse... It's perfect for lunch and dinner. Relaxed in the day and perfectly moody at night but not pretentious. Great balance. Food is great 99% of the time. On the very odd occasion it hasn't been as good as it usually is. However still nice and reasonably priced. The service in the restaurant is generally good, I think sometimes less experienced staff let them down.
Very rarely eat or socialise anywhere else in Sandbach.
Definitely worth a visit.

On a very rare evening without the kids we decided to eat at The Glasshouse as we'd been before and remembered that the food & service were both great.

Unfortunately our latest visit was a somewhat different picture!

The menu was dull and uninspiring & the wine list resembled the leftovers from a house warming party - we asked if they had a bottle of Chablis "certainly, a bottle of champagne"....No, do you have any Chablis "do you mean Chardonay?" No, we mean Chablis! "Oh, I've never heard of that....??!" We settled for an over-priced bottle of Prosecco!

The seared tuna steak to start had clearly been hanging around too long as it has the tell tale fishy smell & taste that suggests it should be binned!

When asked what the "Hanger steak" was, the waitress said that it was a peice of meat from somewhere near the kidney & the chef really liked it!!?? Oh we'll, lets give it a go - in the absence of anything more appealing! In fairness I should have opted for the Cod as one mushroom, half of a tomato & five thick chips and a "peice of meat from somewhere near the kidney" certainly isn't worth the money!!

Desserts almost rescued a very mediocre evening, however being asked 3 times in 2 minutes after finishing our main course if we wished to order dessert was a bit much.

So, uninspuring menu, bland food, pushy waitresses, poor wine list & a constant waft of cigarette smoke from outside made for a pretty poor evening!!

All in all an overpriced, mediocre, disappointing experience, rounded off with a mysterious upset tummy the following day!

I held a 40th birthday meal at the Glasshouse for 32 people on Friday 9th November. From the date we booked the table all the staff couldn't be more helpful. They offered me a 3 course meal for£19.95 ahead with 3-4 choices for starters, mains and puds. On the night the quality of food, service and atmosphere was fantastic. I couldn't ask for a better experience for my bash. I would highly recommend the Glasshouse.

Had lunch here on a Wednesday. Good atmosphere and the food and service were excellent. Felt comfortable drinking coffee and water, no uncomfortableness in not ordering alcohol. Facilities very clean and modern.

Only tiny niggle was that my husband ordered fish and chips and found the portion small.
