My partner and I had the pleasure of dining at Bacchus a couple of Fridays ago; and what a pleasure it was.

We were greeted at the door and shown to our table by a well-mannered, jovial soul, and that set the tone for the whole evening.

Shortly after we were seated, a delightful amousboosh (spelling) was positioned in front of us - what a treat to freshen the pallet.

During our boosh, a piano man started to play. He rattled out hit-after-hit from the ivory, accompanied by soulful vocals; so much so that for a second I thought I was Pulp Fiction Travolta in a Twist contest.

Starter, Main, and Dessert were all lovely, as were the coffees and teas that followed.

We both loved Bacchus and will definitely be going back.

This restaurant was initially far too expensive but good quality nevertheless.
Local competition meant that their pricing had to be adjusted in order to attract more buriness but maintaining the same level of quality.
By and large this has now been achieved.
It is a good quality restaurant particilarly suited to a tete a tete or a special family meal.
The menu is varied and there is a very good wine list at affordable prices. In fact the house wine is more than adequate for most tastes.
Over the recent past,Prestbury has lost one of two notable places to eat. This particular restaurant has to some extent replaced this loss and is very good value for money.

We dined at Bacchus on 19th September 2013 the on eve of our wedding at Mottram,
I was praying it would be good but it was Fabulous.
The restaurant is stunning the staff the atmosphere the music and the food was flawless.
Impossible to fault.
We cannot wait to dine there again very soon
Thank You so much to everyone there for an amazing evening we will never forget.

This is a typical foodie establishment. Small plates and portions with big flavors. Had a business dinner with six others on a Thursday night. We had reservations and were promptly seated. The staff was extremely nice and attentive.The wine selection was very extensive, but being a "champagne bar" I expected the staff to push the bubbly stuff more. The wine list is almost too big. It was hard to make a choice, but after few suggestions from our waiter, we settled on a red and a white, both were very good with unique tastes. Next came an appetizer of smoked salmon with a sprig of basil served in decorative spoons. We passed on the starters on the menu and went straight for the entrees. I had the char-grilled Charolais fillet of Cheshire beef, which was a bit over-cooked from the med-rare I ordered and for around $45 American it could have been much thicker. The Chesire ale and black treacle sauce that they covered the steak with overpowered the taste of the meat, but it was OK. The horseradish mash and steamed broccoli were good, though. Another person at the table ordered the Cheshire lamb and enjoyed it. Another had the sea bass, which is said was just OK.
The food was a bit disappointing, but the service more than made up for it. It was the last night of a long business trip and we all were all in a joking mood and the waitress played right along with us. Finished up with a couple more bottles of wine, which were very good. There probably isn't a bad wine at the place, even with the huge wine list.
Bacchus is perfect for foodies, but if you're looking for something more dense keep looking.

Although not a large restaurant, what Bacchus lacks in size it makes up for in food quality and service.
Michael runs the front of house with an interest in his customers and a friendly, professional approach, which is reflected in the rest of the staff.
The wine list suits all pockets and the kitchen prepare the modern cuisine well. The "Deconstructed Eton Mess" was a novel inovation!
On the night we were there a singer provided a good background of music, which was not intrusive and the staff could not have been more helpful when a taxi booked previously by ourselves did not arrive.
