Owner description: PLEASE NOTE THAT ALTHOUGH THE GARDENS ARE OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK, THE HALL IS ONLY OPEN TO THE PUBLIC ON TUESDAYS, SUNDAYS AND BANK HOLIDAYS. Arley is a place of enormous character, charm and interest. Visitors are frequently struck by the warm and intimate atmosphere and the feeling that Arley is a much-cherished family home. The Gardens, which are amongst the finest in Britain, are outstanding for their vitality, variety and historical interest and are particularly celebrated for the magnificent double herbaceous border. The Hall is an impressive example of a Victorian country house built in the Elizabethan style.

“Just Use the Hall for Weddings”
Reviewed October 7, 2013

The Victorian grandeur of Arley Hall comes with its own price mark-up - it's cheaper just to see the gardens ! These start quite intimately, with small herb, scent and shrub rose garden rooms. These open out into extensive kitchen gardens that bewilder with the fecundity of their fruit and vegetables.
Next comes a huge be-shrubbed walled garden: perfectly controlled and cultivated space, with on one side a long and lush century-old herbaceous border leading up to a dainty white summer house.
Finally, having enjoyed the obligatory pot of tea and buttered scone in the old Stables, you may encounter an extensive nursery with lots of plants for sale on the way out. So handy for the Daimler.

excellent gardens very well taken care of. different areas to see and always something different round the corner, plenty of seating around the gardens to just sit and take in the beautiful scenery and smells. excellent for anyone with a disability as most places are on the flat and signposted for wheelchair users. went round gardens twice it was so beautiful and peaceful.
unfortunately the café did not live up to expectation, very clean and friendly staff, only had the scones which were not very "homemade taste" and was a bit expensive. asked for a piece of cake to take home and it was just wrapped in a couple of paper serviettes so was rather squashed when I got home

“Lovely gardens that are neither too small nor too big”
Reviewed August 25, 2013

One of the nicer gardens in Cheshire very well sign posted from the main roads. Cannot say the same about signs back to the main road. Sorry, I do not trust sat navs!!

Would certainly recommend a visit and the beautiful deep flower beds at the farthest end to the gardens.

“An enjoyable day out”
Reviewed August 13, 2013

The Gardens really are something worth a visit in their own right. I was quite happy to see them without going round the Hall. There's so much to see and, while the prices are high, they are no worse than many other Visitor Centres.
