I had lunch at The Maypole Inn and felt it provided excellent value for money. The lunchtime menu was £8.95 for 2 courses and coffee, or £9.95 for 3 courses. The menu was quite varied - offering a wide selection of roast dinners, as well as a very tasty fish pie. Deserts (which I don't ususally bother with - but for £1 seemed silly not to! ) were generous in size and I can recommend the ginger sponge with custard. Delicious. The inn itself is cosy, with low ceilings and a big log fire. The Maypole Inn provides good value, straightforward food in a pleasant surroundings.
