“Dinner out with my big brother”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 22, 2012

Ate here soon after it opened and again 20th October 2012. The pub was in full swing when we arrived at 7pm a lot of people dining but we found a table for six no problem, waitress was very helpful. Good selection of beers and ciders. Easy to place orders and as we were having three carvery's and two separate orders we were told to sit down and they would call us to the carvery when the other meals were ready, good organisation. The food was not long in arriving even though the pub was very busy. The prepared food seemed hotter than the carvery, the veg were warm but not hot, a usual problem with carvery's but the food was good and the chef not mean with his carving. Over all pretty good. The beers and wine usual pub prices, we had a knickerbocker glory to finish but not as big as the picture seemed.

“Great Carvery - Average Everything Else”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012

This is one of those modern family friendly pub/restaurants next door to the Travelodge on the industrial estate. You queue at the bar for drinks and food and it's all a bit hit and miss depending on how busy the place is.

However, the carvery is absolutely excellent and we ate for £5 each. The roast beef was the biggest slab of meat I've ever seen and the turkey was good too.

My advice: go for the carvery and not much else.

“Carvery but no steak pie dear”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 2, 2012 via mobile

Family of 5 popped in on Friday evening. The pub was heaving. Now I usually have the carvery but decided on the S&A pie. It was dry even with gravy. Mental note to oneself, stick to the carvery.
The other meals were good...

“The best cooked roast beef in any local carvery”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 4, 2012

The carvery here is excellent with a good choice of roast meats, vegetables etc. For anyone with very young children, there is an excellent, small indoor play area to keep the little ones amused. The atmosphere in the watermead is excellent too. I visit at least once a month, meeting up with friends from Warrington who absolutely love this venue.
