“Riverside Inn”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 13, 2013

A good choice of bar food. All well presented and with excellent service. Good value for money and a place to be recommended if you are passing and/or staying in the area. Not fancy (hence the three star rating) but would recommend it to those on a budget.

“Enjoyable Carvery”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 3, 2013

As one in a group of 14 making my first visit I was pleasantly surprised; we arrived on Wednesday evening not knowing that for the month of October there was a special offer; carvery at two for one, this was £13-95 for two of us, plus a free sweet of our choice from the menu! We all chose the carvery, no skimping on the meat plus lots of fresh vegetables, this followed by a free sumptuous sweet was well worth paying much more than the £13-95 for two!! The restaurant has recently had a face lift, the staff were very friendly and polite, well worth a visit.

“Disappointing visit”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 28, 2013

Arrived and wanted a burger none available so opted for a sandwich. Although only £5 i expected a higher standard than what I received. Ordered chicken and bacon only got chicken on it which was dry and very minimal smothered in mayo to hide the fact as,well. The side salad was not a side salad just a few limp lettuce leaves a total disappointment.

“Sunday carvery”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 25, 2013

Busy Sunday lunchtime again, got the last place on the car park at quarter to three, got a table with a view with now wait and was served straight away. A new look since the last visit has smartened everything up and various styles of seating.
Settled for the carvery this time, usual carvery fare, everything warm and not hot but all edible for what we paid. The one complaint was the carver in the carvery was a bit mean, that was not just my complaint but also my wife's, who is not as big an eater as me. I also had a desert which did not interpret on the plate as I thought but was very enjoyable. They did not have the proper bitter on and I was given a second choice which was not a dark bitter but one of the blonde ones which neither looked or tasted good. Over all we had a reasonable lunch in a very busy pub so it cannot be all bad. The waitresses were very pleasant and the wait for food not unreasonable.
