We took part in a Meet the Birds session - it was brilliant! We were made very welcome right from when we arrived and were guided through the morning. The falconers were extremely knowledgeable and were very good at presenting to the group in an informative and interesting way, telling us about the different species we were handling and the characters of the individual birds. We each got to fly six different birds throughout the session and the size of group was small enough that we didn't feel rushed through. We'd certainly recommend going along for the experience. In fact, we ended up buying a voucher for a close friend's birthday (her husband also booked himself on because he didn't want to miss out) and my brother-in-law has booked a session based on our recommendation. At some point we intend to do one of the other sessions.

We were at a party celebrating my brother's 40th birthday and he had arranged for a falconry bird display to be at his venue. The birds were very well behaved and so were the staff. It was lovely to be able to see them so close up and we were given the opportunity for them to fly onto your hand and feed them. The best part was the small burrowing owl called Bolt which was only 8 weeks old and like to nip your fingers (did'nt hurt) but the handlers said that Bolt would grow out of that and was being trained for futher events and we would so love to see him again. Well done to the two men and the birds very informative and much fun to be had. Would definately recommend anybody booking them for a function as long as you have enough room in your garden. We have also been several times to the Falconry centre at Blakemere with the flying display area and the birds on display in the enclosure is very good and worth seeing. Keep up the good work to Steve and his staff.

The key thing that really set a negative tone for the visit was the immense rudeness of the man who took the booking and who checked people in at the front desk. A few manners and a little bit of courtesy would have gone a long way to making the experience more pleasant and feeling less like an inconvenience to him.

I did the Birds of prey handling experience . I say "birds" because there were only two birds that we actually handled, so the plural is only just achieved. Yes you got to view the other birds during a ten or so minute walk around at the end but thats standard for places like this.

The instructor was good and informative and it was good to have the two birds flying and landing on your hand a couple of times, but for a near two hour experience, I was certainly hoping for more than a buzzard and a barn owl. Other similar shows that I have been to around the country do have a lot more variety.

Unfortunately I wouldn't return for this experience and wouldn't recommend.

My day was the Full Day Experience starting with "Meet the birds". The whole morning of having different birds flying to the gauntlet and not only once but several times was amazing and at the same time given all the information about each bird...a Barn Owl, Common Buzzard, Nemesis the American Red tail Buzzard, Harris Hawk, Kestrel and Savanah the batterleau Eagle. After lunch I went for a "Walk on the Wildside" I was very lucky to have a 1-on-1 encounter with Finch the Harris Hawk taking him to local woodlands hoping he might catch his own quarry, which didn't happen! but at least he had a rabbit leg/foot on the way back. To top the day off even though it was cut short, I even got the chance to hold the magnificent White Tail Sea Eagle...Wow!!! The wet weather certainly didn't dampen my spirit or enthusiasm, the whole experience of the day surpassed all expectations. Thank you very much to Rob and Joe for making the day the ultimate experience. Hope to see you all again in the near future. :-)

An experience never to forget given by two very informed, pleasant and enthusiastic guys which made the event for everyone. The birds were amazing, especially the 9 week old Burrowing Owl which was kept to the end and no one wanted to see it go. Would recommend it to anyone looking for something a little different for that special occassion as it ceratinly made this day very special.
