Narrow boats are a holiday in themselves. There is always lots to do on the boat with piloting, mooring, locks and pubs. It is a great way to spend a holiday in the outdoors but still with plenty of luxury. Adele Marie had all that you would want. Excellent galley, shower and toilet, comfortable beds, television and central heating as well as the chance to see the countryside at a slow pace and lots of interesting stuff on the way.
Comfortable boat, lots of stunning scenery, fun at the locks and over the spectacular aqueduct. Plenty of good places to stop.
Would definitely recommend it.
Overall my husband, myself and our 8 year old grandson enjoyed our first canal boat holiday on the Adele Marie. Martin and Anne were very welcoming and the added extras , scones, jam, milk etc were much appreciated
It was hard work at times at the locks and gates but others were happy to help
As there were just 2 adults on board we did not make Llangollen and were conscious of the further we went the further we had to come back and as we had the boat for just 1 week getting to the Chirk Aquaduct was quite an achievement for beginners
Would we do it again. Yes but with another couple
Improvements. Boat is a bit tired and needs some fabric maintenance. Fly spray is a necessity to get rid of the midgies A bread in would be a useful addition
Overall the Adele Marie was very comfortable and we did enjoy our time aboard
Good luck
Kind Regards
Anne W

Our welcome from the owners was genuine and included a welcome pack with home made scones and clotted cream! The narrowboat was extremely well fitted out, comfy beds, good quality sheets and towels, excellent bathroom and kitchen equipment.
We suggest that they provide a couple of folding chairs for sitting out on a lovely evening, otherwise everything we needed was there - including umbrellas!
Technically the boat worked without a hitch.

We stayed aboard the Adele Marie with 2 teenagers and 1 dog, before the holiday communication with Martyn was great, he emailed us some very useful links to help plan the break. The welcome and instruction we received were excellent, there was an unexpected treat awaiting that was appreciated after travelling on Bank Holiday Monday. The boat had everything needed for a relaxing break including a full size fridge and cooker. The teenagers handled the locks with no problem so they were well occupied then exhausted by 10pm - unheard of at home! We took the time to travel to and visit Chester which we enjoyed. Overall we highly rate the hire of Adele Marie and look forward to booking another break soon.

We Hired the boat for a long weekend in early May, and were very impressed with the service from Martin and facilities on the boat too.
On arrival, Martin helped us with our luggage and went through the do’s and don’ts. Everything was clear to understand and our only doubt was whether we could “do locks” or not ! Martin kindly spent the time to travel with us and showed us how the locks worked. It was a large weight off our mind and we continued on our adventure with extra confidence. During our trip we found the other boat enthusiasts really nice and chatty. We only ended up doing one lock without the assistance of others because there are often many people around the lock areas waiting to go through or just volunteering to help. The boat was fully equipped with everything you need (including tea, coffee and fresh scones !) and we really felt we were on an exciting adventure! We moored near local pubs and coupled with the excellent amenities on board, we felt very content. We would highly recommend floating Dreams and will book again.

Midweek rental end of April during the cold snowy weather. Great time with our nephew and dog. All meals cooked on board bar last night pub grub. Everything worked well. Needed the central heating and coal fire stove which can be very powerful - had to open front doors and windows one night when it was frosty outside!
The boat is quite old but very well maintained and clean. Difficult to steer partly because the conditions were windy but the helmsman needs to maintain their concentration. Managed 33 miles and 30 locks on Shropshire Union and Llangollen Canals. Very pleased in the conditions and for a brief midweek break.
