We had long wanted to see the lambing at Reaseheath and purchased a joint ticket for lambing and the zoo. Perhaps visiting the zoo alone is different, however we were unsure how to get there from the lambing and generally just followed the crowd! However, this was the only real down point.
The animals are all looked after as part of the students' courses, and the enclosures and cages are as you would expect from such a well-regarded establishment. Our group had wondered if the 'zoo' would basically be just farm animals, however there were a number of different animals, including otters, meerkats, monkeys and tortoises.
Whilst the zoo is clearly based around the teaching of the pupils, it is well laid out and informative for visitors. It does lack any sort of refreshments, but bearing in mind this is a temporary attraction, I can live with that! For the price paid, a good attraction that puts some permanent zoos to shame!

No need to travel to Chester - great little zoo. I went with my friend and her two grandchildren and there was more than enough to see and do. In the carpark field there were some toy ride-on tractors which kept them amused for some time. Animals in the zoo are beautifully kept - everywhere neat and clean. There is a cafe but last year (2012) it wasn't easy to find and very basic. however still had a nice cuppa and cake. Worth a visit - with or without children.

Lovely little zoo but would only go once a year as quite pricey to visit too often. Quite spread out so kids need to able to walk between sites without too much moaning. Lovely walk through the grounds though.

Tucked away in the corner of this agricultural college in the Animal Management Centre, this small intimate zoo is a gem. Beware it's only open for a relatively short time in the summer holidays.
