A Valentine's Day treat! Rookery Hall was perfect - the room, bathroom, service and food - exceptional. My only slight grumble was the cost of a bottle of wine. I do agree it was a Fine Dining experience but £25 plus was I thought a bit steep. Maybe a house wine priced at £20 would be more acceptable to a lot of people. Apart from that we would highly recommend Rookery Hall especially for a celebration. Most impressed!

Hello,

Thank you for your super Valentine review. A special occasion for special people and we are honoured to have been chosen as your venue of choice.

Bedrooms, Food and service are all areas we spend much time perfecting and so we are especially thrilled that you thought our job was well done.

We are sorry you found the wine expensive , it is actually priced from £23 but we hope the service and surroundings made it good value for money.

We would love to host an occasion for you so please keep us in mind when you have decided on one,

Very Best Wishes

Stephen

We stayed there for a friends wedding and it has the rustic old charm along with a new part with modern rooms with a tv to watch while in the bath..... So what a lovely place to stay. The rooms were clean, the bar area and gardens at the back are lovely to spend an afternoon. It was nice to spend an afternoon around the pool area very relaxing and again clean. Would definitely stay here again.... And such a great location for a wedding.

Thank you for reviewing our hotel.

Wedding days are so important for the families but as important for the guests so we are delighted you had a nice stay,

Attention to detail is so important and the areas you mentioned are at the forefront of our inspections.

The health club and spa are a real treat for our guests and again an area we work hard to exceed our guests expectations

My wife took me to Rookery hall for my birthday. It was an abbsolutely beautiful place, we stayed in the old original part of the hotel, apparently the new part of the hotel have nicer up to date rooms, but the older room was the most beautiful room I'd ever stayed in, so it didn't make much difference, our room had a balcony that over looked the main entrance, and the view was equisite. We felt like we were royalty looking over our grounds.

The food was amazing, they had the fanciest chips I've ever had, they came in their own little basket! ....funny what impresses some people! But the breakfast was so much better, they had a 6ft table just for cereal, another for fruit and so many choices of smoothie i can't even remember, as well as that choice I also had a massive fry up with everything you could ask for on it, if I lived there i would end up fat.

The staff were so lovely and attentive, plus the art work around the place was so fitting to the whole ambiance, it made you feel like you were in a period drama. Downton Abby is nothing on this place.

And just to show that I impress easily..... They had a massive gong at the bottom of the staircase, which I gonged when no one was looking.

The spar was so relaxing, plus no children were allowed after a certain time, I fell asleep on a lounger by the pool, then took some quality time in the sauna, and then had a little time out in the steam room. Everything you could want for a spa.

We have 3 children aged from 3-8. So this was an ideal getaway for parents in need of pampering.

This was by far the best hotel I have ever stayed. First up we arrived to an awe inspiring drive. Walking into reception we where greeted by the best reception staff I have ever met, Liz & Brian where so informed and bright that it immediately put me at ease. Brian showed us to are excutive suit & along the way gave us excellent amenity info followed by a fun and fantastic room tour.

Next up we had a champagne cream tea as part of are package and we were a little taken aback by the eligance of this 18th century building but then true to form immediately put at ease by the bar staff. As we walked into the bar man was having a conversation with the a couple of his co workers and far from feel out of place the two other co workers faded straight out of view and the bar man came straight to are attention with a smile. Top level customer service! Very impressed.

In all honesty I could go on for hours but this was the best hotel experience I have ever had.

Details:

Secret excapes package : £170 all in.

Excutive room
3 course meal for 2
Spa access 24hrs

Oh yea and I ate pigeon, wood pigeon but it was delicious! Thank you to all the team you are amazing!

Thank you to hand picked hotels; a wonderful experience. A warm reception from the very pleasant staff, a lovely double room in the original hall with a balcony. The bed was large, very comfortable and with an excellent choice of pillows. Our bathroom was a good size but will need a bit of a makeover before too long.
We loved the wood panels and olde worlde ambience of the hotel, with modern day facilities and all needs catered for. We couldn't have asked for anything more.
The grounds are very well kept, fountains, woodland and fields, a truly relaxing and peaceful setting'
The breakfasts were more than adequate with a variety of food to order which came piping hot and freshly cooked; the cold food was well displayed with plenty of choice. The service was excellent, from the greeting as you entered the restaurant to the attentive, friendly waiters and waitresses.
We also had evening meals during our stay, the food again was freshly prepared, presented beautifully and with plenty of choices.
The bar is well stocked, service impeccable, comfortable leather seating adds to the whole experience. The lounge had a log fire burning, always a bonus on a cold winters evening.
This is an Hotel and an Hotel Group that we will definitely visit again. They really care about their guests.

Room Tip: We were in April room, in the old part of the hall, a lovely room but it didn't overlook the bea...
