“Absolutely Fabulous on all fronts”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 1, 2010

We stayed 2 nights with Ruth and Steven at their beautiful home. We had a wonderful stay in the Primrose bedroom which was lovely, the bed was comfortable and the hospitality tray a real delight with lots of choice of teas etc and a lovely biscuit barrel. Breakfast was heavenly with the freshest eggs ever and cooked just the way you like them and presented beautifully. The choice of cereals, fresh fruit and yoghurts was also amazing spoilt for choice. I even indulged in Steven's homemade fruit loaf which he made espcially and it was divine. Once you have had their breakfast there is no need for lunch. I loved that Ruth and Steven joined you in the dining room after ou have eaten for a catch up, great to get tips on where to go and how to get there. We also met the lovely greyhounds who are so well behaved.

I would recommend this B&B to everyone, whatever the need, so much better than a hotel.

We were attending a wedding at Rookery Hall and Primrose Cottage was listed among the recommended places to stay. Steven and Ruth could not have been more helpful and we would echo all the positives that have been expressed. If we are in this part of Cheshire in the future we would definitely go back, and would certainly recommend to friends.

Primrose Cottage is ideally situated for regular visits to our family who live in Winsford. We always receive such a friendly welcome from Steve and Ruth and we breath a sigh of relief everytime we pull onto their drive. 'Our' room is so pretty and welcoming with special little touches like fresh flowers, biscuits and chocolates. They always make sure that the heating is on when the weather is cold even though we know Steve doesn't feel the cold! The bed linen is always beautifully laundered and the bed is really comfortable. The bathroom facilities are excellent too, again with little extra's for our comfort. Breakfast is a delight and scrambled eggs and smoked salmon come as a norm when asked for, which I did as a joke the first time, We are sent on our way with goodies for the trip after enjoying their company and good conversation after breakfast when they join us to catch up with the gossip. Lovely people with a winning formua, long may they continue!

What a wonderful place to stay in the heart of the Cheshire countryside. Steven and Ruth are perfect hosts and strive hard to ensure that every guest goes away happy and well satisfied. The whole cottage is spotlessly clean and the bedrooms are well equipped with tea/coffee making facilities, goodies and fresh flowers. Lucky guests may get to taste Steven's wonderful fruit cake or banana loaf. The breakfasts are fabulous. One only has to study the guest book to see how many guests return again and again. It's like heaven with laughter!

What can I say............this place is just fabulous!!.
We only stayed the one night, as we were going to a wedding at Rookery Hall.....all I can say is stay here & you will be well looked after!!
The room was gorgeous with stunning views. Lots of little extras that you don't always find... biscuit barrel, sweets, and not your normal run of the mill toiletries either!!
The bed was so comfy, the bathroom stunning............and the breakfast............well, I think I may need to diet for a week!!
We waited in the consevatory with tea and coffee whist breakfast was prepared, the views once again just as stunning.
And Steven & Ruth......what lovely people!!! Steven even very kindly dropped us off at Rookery Hall...........now where would you get that??
I would recommend here to anyone......it ticked all the boxes & more....it was, as I said....."Just Perfect!!!"

I stayed in this beautiful Bed and Breakfast cottage for a week in July. From my arrival until my departure I had a wonderful time. The cottage looks like something plucked directly from a chocolate box, the gardens and surrounding countryside are lovely. The hosts Steven and Ruth couldn't have been more friendly and welcoming and throughout the week nothing was too much trouble for them. The cottage interior is a perfect mix of traditional with a hint of modern, particularly in the private bathroom and exceptionally clean. Steven and Ruth have thought of everything to make their rooms as comfortable as possible for their guests, from the quality linen on the bed to the fresh flowers and sweets and biscuits which accompany the abundance of teas and coffees . My room had a television and DVD as well as a CD player. Steven and Ruth even have a bulging bookcase and a collection of DVD'S for their guests to use. The breakfast are all home cooked, including homemade bread (delicious) and the ingredients are all sourced locally. They made me feel incredibly special during my stay and I will most definitely be staying with them again next time I visit the area.

This is the most perfect B&B thanks to its two wonderful hosts. The old adage of 'you come as a guest and leave as a friend' is true in this amazing establishment. Rooms are beautifully appointed as are the bathrooms and there is also a lovely conservatory in which to relax during the day/evening. Breakfast is second to none (You can even choose to have a packed breakfast which turns out to be enough for lunch too!) The location is good for a visit to places such as Chester. There are also some excellent pubs in the area which Steven and Ruth (the hosts) will be only too happy to direct you to. Overall, a real 5 star B&B and one I would highly recommend!
