“Fabulous 40th birthday party”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

A huge thanks to Rowena and her efficient Edwardian dressed team at the Sandhurst Hotel for helping us pull off a fantastic party to celebrate mine and my wifes 40th birthday. A great time was had by all.

The party was of huge significance to us as a family, as our son is currently enjoying a reprive from severe and life threatening compliations from his underlying Myotonic Dystrophy. Having recently spent the best part of 6 months between Alder Hey and Great Ormond Street Hospitals, it provided us, our wider family and valued friends some very special time where we could all be together, and create some great memories!

It was very important for us to give our amazing friends and family a great party to remember too, by way of expressing our thanks and appreciation of their commitment in doing life with us, and being so supportive during difficult times.

I can only say that Rowena completely understood our requirements from the off, and gave us great advice at every stage. From the initial planning, to helping us to source and book quality entertainment which included a 3 min fireworks display and a Bagpiper (which I was particulary keen to include) to make the evening extra special. Rowena ensured everything ran to schedule including synchronising the fireworks and piper.

The hot buffet was of exceptional quality, it was really tasty and went down very well with all our guests. Unfortunately we had forgotten one of our guests had special dietary requirements, but Rowena quickly sorted the situation much to my relief!!

The Hotel was the perfect venue, we wanted somewhere a bit different, special, we really appreciated and embraced the Edardian theme which is very tastefully done. This gave us exactly the warm, welcoming and homely feel we were looking for to greet and entertain our guests. The presentation of all the rooms was really nice too, the tables were beautifully set with fresh flowers and tasteful mirror decorations to add a touch of class! The Waitresses and Rowena were not only really friendly and attentative, they were also dressed in traditional Edwardian costume which added to the individuality and charactor of the Hotel.

We also spent the night at the hotel and were really impressed by the 4 poster room. A huge wow factor room, beautiful big windows to the front making the room very bright. Immaculately clean, lovely period furniture, all the facilities you need and more (extra pillows in the wardrobe - perfect) The en-suite was also very good size and immaculately clean, the shower was great, loads of hot water and luxury towels.

Breakfast was again in the beautiful edwardian restaurant and beautifully presented, choice of fresh juices, cereals, breads, toasts, yougharts, fruit etc. The cooked breakfast was delicious and cooked to perfection with local quality ingredients! We felt really spoilt, and the breakfast well and truly set us up for the day!

This place is a special gem in the heart of Cheshire and a real asset to Middlewich. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere really extra special - outstanding value too! We look forward to returing hopefully in the not too distant future!

A BIG 'THANK YOU' from all of us

Needed a stopover one Saturday night so booked via LateRooms.com having checked out previous Trip Advisor reports. Added my usual "quiet room request" and was surprised and delighted when the owner, Rowena 'phoned me within a couple of hours of booking online to discuss this - how refreshing that she took the time to do this and talk me through their rooms and suggest the best one for us.
We had no problem finding the hotel as it is on a main road and there was ample parking. We were met immediately by a lady dressed in Edwardian costume and the hotel is very much themed Upstairs/Downstairs. Everyone was extremely helpful and courteous. We decided to eat in the restaurant at night and were glad that we did as the choice and service was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
When you check-in you are asked what you would like for breakfast the following morning and at what time as everything is freshly cooked. There was choice of fruit juice, cereals and the breakfast was hot and tasty and tea/coffee and toast replenished as often as you like.
Rowena took time to chat with all guests at breakfast to check everything had been fine - which it had been during our visit.
Wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Sandhurst - it makes a very refreshing change from the sterile multi-chains.

Room Tip: No tips as I feel certain if you have a specific request, then Rowena will make every effort to acco...

......great food, clean rooms, and fantastic service that is. The Sandhurst is unquestionably the friendliest and most enjoyable hotel/B&B that I've ever stayed at. My wife and I recently spent 5 x nights at the Sandhurst during a trip from America to Ireland/England. From the moment you arrive you become part of the ownership's family. Evening conversation begins with a pint at the bar as you meet guests, nightly diners, or the staff to discuss the drama of the day. Then it's a home-cooked meal to stuff you to the gills, top it off with a nightcap and some conversation, and then relax in a clean and comfortable room. Breakfasts are as big or small as you like, and everything is piping hot. Whether you're in the area for a night, a week, or a month--choose the Sandhurst; it's in a class of it's own.

Room Tip: Our room was frontside and above the parking lot but we never heard a sound. Let Rowena know what yo...

What a fantastic dining experience my partner and I had last night. We were greeted at the door by two members of staff( one being the owner) and they made us feel really welcome and very comfortable. My partner and I picked a really good night to dine as they produced a new a la carte menu and a set menu for us to choose from. Whilst enjoying a wonderful bottle of house red wine in the bar area we chatted with staff, other diners and residents of the charming hotel. After choosing from the a la carte menu, with great difficulty as we were spoilt for choice, we were shown to our candlelit table and our delightful encounter with exquisite, delicious and perfectly presented food began. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening from start to finish. The staff, food and ambiance was second to none. We will definitely return and would recommend 'The Sandhurst Hotel'.

My husband and I enjoy a great deal of weekends away all around the country and have experienced a wide spectrum of venues. i have to say that having attended a wedding at the Sandhurst recently we were blown away with every aspect of it. Firstly the Themed building and rooms are fantastic- every attention to detail has been applied. The food - well my husband takes some filing and he could not finish his meal. The staff - Rowena and her staff were totally amazing, they did the bride and groom proud even to providing the entertainment had us all including a 91yr old clapping and partying. immaculate place, superb food, friendly beyond any expectations. highly recommended. we will be attending the themed nights there they sound awesome. thank you so much all at the Sandhurst for an amazing day

Room Tip: all are beautiful - stunning place and enjoyed looking at the decor.

Weekend away seeing family who live nearby - We found the staff friendly and helpful, the rooms are full of character, clean and comfortable, and the food is great! We got a great welcome, a choice of rooms and there was a real sense of fun with the staff dressed up.
