Have been to the White Bear several times now, either to eat or just for a drink. it is nice to see that it is always busy (but "nice" busy), Plenty of seats, places to stop and chat. The staff is always very friendly so is the landlord, Paul (always hands on). The food is good too, not Michelin star rated cuisine but you know what you're getting for the price. The only bemol is that sometimes the service is very slow. The deco, atmosphere is great. Went there for New Year's Eve and we even got a free bottle of bubbly ! Nice tought.

The high street is supposedly the heart of the community. Folks you a missing out here. Just talk a walk down Wheelock Street, the high street of Middlewich, just a brief walk from the canal. Not only are the building of interesting including 'The Alhambra Palace' still with its stucco work but the historic White Bear Pub. A warm welcome awaits you as soon as you step through the doorway. Thanks to Steph for excellent service and help with p/word for the free Wifi (password is on the Notice Board by the bar). We only wanted a light lunch at a very reasonal price of a homemade, delicious hamburger and chips for myself and a Gammon, Egg and Chips for the other half, satisfied us well. Good choice of real local ales and cider also available. Decor is fab and I would happily pay their interior designer to come and help with my house interior. Good atmosphere and Nick will quite happily chat with you, if he has the time, and if your very luck show you the before and after photos of the White Bear. Problems of the summer have been rectified and we think the team now offer a very good product. We will be back and many thanks.

Ate here with a group of friends on 28/12/13. Food was very tasty and excellent value for money. Wouldn't have been out of place in a much more expensive restaurant. Excellent service as always.

We had an hour to spare in Middlewich today so wanted somewhere quiet to have a nice lunch that could accommodate our little girl also.. We couldn't have found a better place!
The food arrived quickly and was delicious,it was brilliant value- just £4.95 for burger&chips and the place itself was stunning!! Both myself and my partner work/have worked in hospitality and we instantly loved this place! The only let down was that because it was a quiet time of the day,we could hear the staff having conversations from the bar.. Otherwise,it was fab!
Would def go again:)
