“Could do better”
Reviewed April 8, 2012

An odd one this, they are definately trying hard, possibly too hard.
Extensive menu (make it smaller please) and cut out the pretencious bits. What we want is good tasty food. Mars bar creme brule!! - nothing like a creme brule-not even set. Noticed it was mint aero creme brule on the menu tonight!! oh no!! -
We did coment when asked if we liked the puddings, but were just told "thats how they do them here".
But on the plus side our mains were ok and the chips fantastic, veg well cooked.
My pudding bannana bread and butter pudding was rubbery though,( expect it was a day or so old) but the knickerbocker glory was by all accounts very good.
Service very slow, but we didn't mind and staff friendly enough.
Not somewhere for a special occasion

“Not upto standard”
Reviewed March 12, 2012

Been couple of times before, normally quite, arrived with wife on her birthday, ended up waiting at table for three hours for meal, they had run out of almost everything, left after meal thinking very expensive, long wait should have gone to chippy.

Chef more concerned about food looking good than actually being good.

“lovely meals and service”
Reviewed January 30, 2012

me and my husband had the delight of going for a meal at this pub and i was very impresxed, the waitress was very professional and courteous, and the meals were lovely, brilliant size portions and very fresh. I had not been there before but was recommended by a friend. Only down side is its a little out of the way but its well worth the journey there! I will keep on recommending this place to all my friends many thanks verdin arms x

“Don't Bother!”
Reviewed December 7, 2011

We ate here in October – word of advice, don’t bother going! I can’t help but thing the other review on here, giving 5 stars is fake!
We arrived at 7:30pm on a Saturday night and we were the only diners in there!!! We ordered our starters and one member of our party was left waiting until everyone else had finished before their starter was brought out!! My partner ordered pate for a starter, a HUGH jar of pate with 1 same piece of bread cut in half, when my partner asked for more bread to go with the pate he was rudely told ‘’look this is what we offer’’.

The mains were even worse and we had to send the Hot Pot back as it was COLD in the middle, the waiter returned and told us ‘’the big chief has gone mad with the little chief for not heating it up accordingly’’

We were then given this meal for free…jee wiz the whole night was horrible!! And the people that work in there are creepy!!!

“Excellent food, Excellent Staff”
Reviewed November 18, 2011

This was our third visit to the Verdin Arms, once again the food and the service was excellent. We have visited there on three different days and had three different meals - the consistency was again my favourite word for this eatery excellent! The Verdin Arms is situated on the Nantwich Road with ample parking facilities as you enter the restaurant you are greeted with a friendly smile and asked throughout your stay if everything is to your satisfaction. The Landlord is at hand and he is very friendly which makes your visit even more enjoyable. The prices & menu are very reasonable and varied with tastes that cater for most - try the sweets they are delicious.
