Description: Pull up at Middlewich’s Sandhurst Hotel, home of Hudson’s Restaurant, and you could be mistaken for thinking you’ve been invited to a middle class dinner party. With little signage, no neon lights and the very pleasant facade of an Edwardian family home, this is a million miles from your average hotel or restaurant. Inside the homely feel continues with plush carpeting and curtains, Chesterfield sofas in the bar and not-too-ostentatious chandeliers overhead. Only the Edwardian costumed waiting staff give the game away. The menu continues the ruse, true British ingredients make up hearty meals, but the dishes have something of an edge over your average suburban dinner party.

Went here on a travelzoo deal. Would not have paid full price for the meal we had having said that here was a lot of food and it was tasty. Good soup followed by sharing platter of belly pork. Meat nice vegetables not so good root veg hard and colcannon required seasoning. Followed this with fruit crumble.
This is a restaurant in a hotel that caters for 'travellers'. I don't think the fine dining experience which is what the owners are trying to create matches the clientele the hotel is attracting.

We visited this restaurant on a Saturday evening using a Travel Zoo voucher. We were greeted by maids in mob caps and the other staff were in Period costume. The restaurant was beautifully decorated and the tableware was white linen, crystal glasses, fresh flowers and candles...absolutely lovely. We were told that the table was ours for the night and to relax and enjoy our food and setting...and this is exactly what we did and had a great time. Our voucher was for a 5 course meal. There was choice of starters, a sorbet and then the main course was a hot sharing platter of which there was a choice of meat or fish. We all had the Ham Hock which was served on a huge platter with vegetables and mash and gravy. The food was delicious but we could not eat it all as the portions were so generous and believe me we tried. This was followed by tempting desserts and coffee. We could not believe the fantastic value of the voucher. The staff were friendly, ensuring that we were enjoying our meal with maids curtsying every time we were served. We noticed that the restaurant does a wide range of theme nights some with entertainment. We were not expecting entertainment but to our delight there was a talented singer booked called Marie-Claire who sang a great selection of songs and encouraged the diners to dance. And then at the end of the evening the proprietress who had earlier overseen the meal dressed in Edwardian costume changed into modern clothes and took over the singing. She had a fabulous voice and was very entertaining. I need to mention Steve who had the diners joining in to the music. We felt so relaxed and were treated so well that we thought we were at a special celebration. Thank you for an unforgettable evening we will definitely be back.

We went to Hudsons @ the Sandhurst on a Travel Zoo deal.
What an amazing place and you are treated like one of the family. We had a sharing platter, which was nicely cooked and lots of it ( you will never leave hungry )
The owner was in Edwardian costume. Our waiter for the evening was also in Edwardian attire and was the perfect gentleman, serving each course perfectly and bowing before leaving our table.
If you can get to Hudsons then you are in for a treat.
10/10 for service, good food, cleanliness and of course sheer quirkiness!

We had a lovely evening - great setting and excellent food. A hidden gem in Cheshire. The staff were very friendly and the owner most attentive. We'd recommend Hudsons Restaurant to anyone but especially if you want to experience really good food in an unusual setting
