Good comfortable pub dining. Son 's favourite for his fish n chips when coming back from school.
Better is summers when uncan sit outside, not a very picturesque spot, but reasonable place for eating in a quiet village.

We went for lunch with two friends on 22.10.12. The food was average, although one of the party was "knocked out" by the half size fish and chips - the fish was massive, and tasty!
We asked for two sweets, but were told that they were "off", as the menu was changing the next day -I do not know if we had the old or new menu. They then came back, and my choice was still available, but neither of the sweets were value for money, and the rice pudding looked stodgy, and was!
The staff were, however warm and friendly, and the whole experience was a good one - we will go back!

Went with a large party for a birthday celebration on a Saturday night. Not planning to return anytime soon. The staff were very pleasant and attentive but the food left a lot to be desired. Two of us had Seafood Trio - the seabass was delicious, as was the chorizo , cod and scallops passable. The majority of the party had fish and chips. The unanimous verdict was that the fish was "tasteless" "bland". Other people who had the rumpsteak said it was tasty. The lamb kofta was considered to be "arid", "tasteless" and lacking spice - "where was the chili?". And now to the chips - got to say that these were really poor. They were limp, moist and quite greasy - almost as though the oil was not hot enough!! Also they tasted like the potatoes were from last year's batch!

The tables looked as though they needed a good clean, or at least in need of some decent tableclothes. Anbience in the pub area was good but in the conservatory area where we eat it was decidedly mediocre apart from that we created ourselves.

Can't believe the positive reviews this place gets - as I said we won't be returning any time soon.
