A group of 11 of us stayed at the woodcote house last weekend for a kart meeting at Hooton park , the welcome we received was first class the rooms comfortable food excellent reasonably priced drinks , one of our group is dairy intolerant and a great effort was made by the staff to accommodate her requirements . I was also celebrating my 60th birthday and could not have had a better time , thanks and see you next year

I have an office a mile from the Woodcote and have stayed here at least a dozen times this year. The rooms are all of a high standard (have stayed in most of them now) and great value for money.
The food on offer is fantastic! Great choice of breakfast and the evening menu rates as good as many "serious" restaurants that i've dined in.
Although I use it when on business I would heartily recommend to anyone!

We visited the Woodcote House restaurant for the first time, having driven past it for years. The restaurant is open to both residents and the public. It is not big but neatly decorated. We had prawn tempura and mushroom and stilton pate as our starters and they were well presented and delicious. For mains, we had the Aberdeen Angus beef burger served with salad, relish and chunky chips, and beef fillet served with crispy onion rings, garden peas, roasted cherry tomatoes, mushroom and chunky chips - they were both lovely. Generous portions. We were so full that we could not sample the selection of desserts in the menu but opted for Irish coffee instead. We were served by the Hotel owner and an assistant, they were friendly and attentive. There were other diners in the restaurant and we overheard lovely compliments about the lovely food they had. This can only reflects the quality food they serve and it is a credit to the chef and staff. It was a surprising nice experience and an impressive one. We will be returning to the Woodcote for another meal in the not too distant future.

P.S. The Woodcote House itself has parking in front and side of the building. There is a reasonable size function room for private parties. There is an interesting display of quintessential craft items for sale in the reception area. There is very good feedback on the accommodation/rooms in Woodcote on Tripadvisor, which goes without saying about its quality service.

Although I have not been to the actual restaurant at this hotel I wanted to say something about the staff and the function facilites. My son-in-law arranged a surprise birthday party for my daughter at the hotel in Feb 2013. The hotel is family run and the manager was accommodating and helpful. The staff in general were unobtrusive but friendly. The hot buffet we had was very good, with a nice selection of indian snacks, chicken drumsticks etc. The only comment was that it disappeared very quickly and any leftovers were taken away because of the food safetly rule about keeping warm food out for too long - this was good but a reminder to go and have seconds would have been nice!
We provided a singer/disco for the event and the layout of the room was good, with the singer and dance floor being in the middle of a long room - one end having the tables and chairs and the other having comfy sofas etc, with the bar running along the wall at this end. This provided some quieter areas for people to sit.
My brother and his 2 teenage children stayed the night at the hotel and had a nice large room and a good breakfast. He said that the girl on the reception desk seemed rather distracted. We also found out in advance that his room booking had been cancelled in error but this did not put him off booking again for one night for the other function.
The other function was my granddaughter's christening party during the day. The buffet ordered this time consisted of sandwiches, warm sausages in a tangy sauce and salad which was just right for the occaision.
The atmosphere for both functions was good and I would not hestitate to recommend this hotel to others as somewhere to hold a funciton.
