Description: Beefeater opened their doors back in 1974, and were driven by a passion for glorious steak. Mouth-watering cuts at mouth-watering prices was their motto. Reassuringly nothing's changed, these things still drive them today and they always will. Beefeater believe in two things, a warm friendly welcome and serving incredible steak.

Good as usual with a great 50% off offer which was VERY popular with the hoi polloi. Was sometimes a bit too busy but this makes the place lively at least, you just had to book in advance.

“nice food and staff”
Reviewed January 10, 2013

Friendly staff good food good value this is a good Beefeater pub food is always well presented and of reasonable quality. Staff are always friendly. Better atmosphere downstairs than up. Is also attatched to a hotel so handy if you need somewhere to stay. Always very busy so obviously people happy with it.

Pleasant atmosphere, good efficient and quick service, tasty food. Wouldn't say it was the cheapest place to eat puddings in excess of £4 but food cld not be faulted...bottomless drinks available for the kids, separate menus for younger guests and bottomless chips, spicy or plain... Recommend the spicy for a bit more taste... Overall a nice place to eat would suit couples and/or families, young, old and anywhere in between...

“Standards of service slipping be prepared for a long wait if you sit upstairs”
Reviewed December 24, 2012

After a great Xmas meal last year our party of 25 returned. The menu was the same on paper and the food tasted ok but suffered from lack lustre presentation and painfully slow and over casual service. Last year melon was laid out in a fan and served with forest fruit garnish. This year I was presented with cubes of melon in a dish! Last year the turkey dinner was well presented and looked wonderful. This year the presentation was more canteen style fine for a cheap cavery or Morrison's cafe but unacceptable at nearly £20 a head. Thankfully the food tasted better than it looked. Some people had to leave at 10 pm and miss the dessert they had paid for. When this arrived at 10.15 pm the profiteroles were still frozen inside! After a positive review from me earlier in the year I felt compelled to update TA readers. The exception was the rapid professional bar service. Great value soft drinks well presented with a smile.
