“Fabulous Sunday Lunch”
Reviewed March 27, 2013

Myself and my husband went to The Waverley Hotel to enjoy the fixed price Sunday and ENJOY we definitely did!!! We ended up having 3 courses, we just couldn't resist in the end! There were about 4 choices per course all of which looked lovely (we could see other people tucking into them). We both had garlic mushrooms which had cheese and a lovely warm bread roll to start. We then had roast lamb for our main which came with a whole host of veg including soft boiled potatoes and crispy roast potatoes along with a big jug of delicious meaty gravy!! For pudding I had a slab of cherry cheesecake and good dollop of vanilla ice cream and my husband chocolate fudge with a mound of cream. All this including 2 drinks cost £21.00 for both of us! Absolute bargain. Looking forward to going back, just waiting for my next Sunday off!

Oh yes and they kindly locked my keys away keeping them safe for when i finally remembered I had left them there!!

For business travellers watching costs this is a basic, good value hotel. The rooms are adequate and the food is acceptable with a reasonable choice at dinner and breakfast.
But, if you like well stocked bars, cordon-bleu restaurants and sumptuous bathrooms you will be disappointed so go elsewhere and pay more (quite a lot more).
No real ale which is a shame as the pubs close by are all pretty naff

I like to start the day with a good breakfast and this was it. Very nicely presented and the saut'ed mushrooms umm! good room, very warm welcome from the helpful staff and handy for our trip. Good off road parking, a number eattery's close by if needed, no food service on a Friday evening we went to an Italian resturant just a short walk away you can see it from the hotel. the waverly realy meet our needs, we were going to a wedding on the Saturday near Nantwich and could have stayed there but the cost, to much! this would be my choice when I am in the area. very near to the Station which helps you find it and means you can use the trains, just a short walk.

For about the tenth year running we had our annual Christmas party at this hotel on 20th December 2012 and again we were not disappointed!! We hire the function room for the full day and have a four course lunch and buffet and disco at night.
For lunch there was 70 of us and the food was brilliant with a variety of choices, I had the soup, turkey and Xmas pudding which was cooked to perfection and there was plenty of it !! Other members of my group had different selections and all commented on how nice it was. We have previously attended other locations prior to this and the food was not to the same standard. The food is great value for money and we have never had any problems here. Our package also included the wine which was good quality and flowed a little too well !! The staff were excellent and patient, accommodating all our needs with no fuss.
The hotel only took around an hour to change the function around from the lunch to the evening party, we went to a couple of local bars nearby why this happened, the hotel being ideally located for this, being a short walk from the main arterial route through Crewe.
When we returned everything was set up and ready party which we did until midnight and the numbers swelling to around 100. The staff took this in their stride and served everybody quickly with a smile on their face.
This is a great hotel and we will definitely book again for next year, also my Fathers 80th birthday party next November.
Thanks to all the staff.

Went with a party for our Christmas party night on December 15th 2012, and the food was terrible, nothing seemed cooked properley, our Christmas pudding came out seved to us stone cold, told the waitress who really was not that bothered, she took them all back into kitchen to heat up and when we were then given them back the sauce that was on the pudding tasted disgusting, as if it was off, none of us could eat it, again when we told the waitress, not interested attitude I felt was given.

Booked this hotel as so near to Crewe railway station, and the most sweet, comfortable hotel it was. Staff were so friendly when i arrived. Didnt eat there as was out to the Southport Air show with family, but looking at the menu it looked lovely especially sunday lunch, but sadly i left in morning sunday. Was in the annexe part through the garden, had a few stairs, but was a nice little room, clean, bed so comfortable, and had toilet and washbasin, shower was downstairs along the corridor...Next time i will eat there, just was a bit busy this weekend.out and about. I will definetely be returning. I dont know where people say decor is old fashioned, it is not, it is a sweet little hotel with lovely features....well impressed.....

Room Tip: I had room 8 which was in the annexe part through the small garden, about 15 metal stairs to get to...
