Recommended length of visit: 2-3 hours
Owner description: The Crewe Heritage Centre, built to commemorate 150 years of the town of Crewe, was opened in 1987 by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Based in a truly unique location, right in the heart of the Grand Junction Railway. Our site is connected to the mainline railway network with the result that we have frequent visiting main line steam and Diesel locomotives present on site in addition to our own collection of rolling stock. We also have three spectacular Miniature Railway's, offering 3.5", 5" and 7.25" gauges. We offer the facility of hiring the site out and have worked with rail industry and non-rail industry partners in the past. If you are interested in hiring the Site or the Exhibition Hall, please Contact Us.

“Rubbish.”
Reviewed May 8, 2013

Its supposed to be an exhibition of old working locomotives, but small & stuck behind a Tesco 24 hour store. Half of the so called exhibits are in various stages of repair. Not worth the time, effort, or the entrance fee.

“Railway heaven really”
Reviewed April 23, 2013

A must for all ages, interesting displays and trips down memory lane. Food could have been better, but there are plenty of other places close by.
Loved the old signal house, and the guides there were really committed and loved to talk about the railways years ago.

“Awesome!”
Reviewed February 17, 2013

Great fun was had! A model railway, the huge Crewe North Junction signal box looking over the mainlines to Scotland, Chester, Manchester, Birmingham and London, the station AND some excellent tea!
