“better and better”
Reviewed July 8, 2013

Wonderful restaurant with staff that are just attentive enough without being intrusive and the food just keeps getting better and better.

My friends love to go here as the standard of both Indian and English cuisine is excellent.

Well worth a visit :)

“OK”
Reviewed July 5, 2013

Went the other night for food and drinks with friends.
Had to ask for popadoms, where i expect them to be complimentary and served almost immediately while selecting off the menu.
Starters Onion Bhajis were tasty although can't really go wrong with them.
I had Jalfrezi which i found very dry, there was no sauce at all but the chicken was tasty and spicy. Nan bread very greasy.

Had better and had worse over the years

“Food/drink superb staff excellent”
Reviewed July 3, 2013

Only moved to Crewe six months ago but this pub became my local. The food/drink has always been excellent and as a Guinness and real ale drinker I would recommend anyone to try The Cheshire Cheese.
Food is of a good standard (we use for Sunday lunch or early evening) and the staff stay the same which helps make the friendly atmosphere.
I suggest any derogatory comments on this site are not a true reflection and you were either very unlucky or have a hidden meaning, but the CC is well worth a visit.

“Now called Banana Grove - awful!”
Reviewed June 26, 2013

The food was OK, but nothing special, quite good value. BUT, the drinks were HORRIBLE !
The Bombardier was stale, the Guinness was Grim and the lager lacklustre.
My friend and I observed the management clustered around the till, counting money, mumbling to each other, no eye contact, unfriendly. The staff were doing their job.
They need to make their mind up about this 'fusion' rubbish, its either a pub or its an Indian restaurant, the mix doesn't work.
