“It's average, nothing really bad.”
Reviewed November 13, 2012

Stayed here on business and check in was really slow. Dinner was served in a very openplan restaurant with TV on. Meals were served and most were nice, but couple were inedible, and had to be sent back. The wine was warm. Staff were very nice though. Rooms basic, and breakfast was nice, although had to wait a while for hot food to be put out.

There's nothing really bad about the place, but it's distinctly average, so if you thinking for special occasion - I woudn't.

Stayed at this Hotel 2nd and 3rd November 2012 with family. Room and food very good, staff very helpfull. The morning of 4th November twenty of us sat down for breakfast together and the food was piping hot and fresh. Would recommend this Hotel without hesitation. We were celebrating my brothers 80th birthday with family and friends. The party was held at Sanbach Town Hall.

Stayed one sleepless night at this hotel due to a large group of drunken yobs who were intent on making sure no slept, their nonsense went on until 5:30am, and involved banging on our room door, running up and down the corridor shouting and swearing, my daughter who was in another room on her own was very distressed. Hotel management who were on duty during a this were not prepared to do anything other than keep serving the drunken idiots even more drink. Basically it appears you can run riot in this hotel, when I initially complained the hotel staff said the same group had caused similar problems on the previous night and proceeded to point out he was also missing a fire extinguisher he believed the group had taken. It appears there is no limit to what you can do, hotel staff were spineless in dealing with the issue and more focused on bar takings. Stay here at your pearl!!!! I'll certainly be taking further steps against the hotel following this disaster.

Dear Fdgordon,

Thank you for your feedback. I apologise about the noise during your stay. We have taken further steps against the group and I can ensure they won't be staying again.
Additionally, as discussed on the phone I am hoping that you take up my offer of compensation.
I hope you will give us another opportunity to serve you.

Kind regards,

Ilona McNeil

Nice hotel, food OK compared to the price asked for it. Not restaurant quality but then again it's not restaurant prices.

The only downside was the internet - it was absolutely dire. It was so poor that even a radio station had to continually buffer. In this day and age, in an urban area, I expect internet in the rooms fast enough to support live TV streaming. Certainly of the 3-4 hotels I have used in Chester that is the case. Even on ferries on the Irish Sea. But not in a Crewe hotel room apparently.

The TV was also dire. Very poor selection of channels. Again in this day and age full freeview is the very least you should expect.

Big plus to the guy on reception - Jordanian guy called Jouhad(?). Very friendly, very helpful.

Booked in here a cheaper alternative to some of the more expensive hotels in Stoke-on- Trent and were very delighted with what we got. Room was very large and a big sized shower. Plenty of parking and a very short trip to Stoke-on-Trent. Standard buffet breakfast serve yourself. We ordered room service evening meal which we were slighty dissapointed to get salad drowning in dressing as the rest of the meal was well cooked and presented. Staff work very hard to to present a clean and comfortable ambience.

I stayed at the hotel as we were up for a friends wedding. The price for the room was great value compared with all others nearby, and having parking was great. The room was larger than expected and the bathroom, complete with a powerful shower was better than some of the more expensive hotels I have stayed at.
Breakfast was good, buffet all you can eat and the bar was reasonably priced.
Will look to stay here again as was fantastic value for money, bright and cheerful and felt new.

This is a lovely clean and bright hotel serving nice food.Very pleasant and helpful staff, can't do enough for you. Only down side is location. Would be ok if you were driving and using this hotel as a base but I was with coach party. there was no entertainment at night and local bars to far away

Room Tip: room 401 at end of corridor no one walking past
