We stayed here on 25th June after our wedding. Such a lovely little cottage right off the high street with pubs in walking distance. The cottage was a perfect place for us to spend our first few days as a married couple.
Thanks Joanne x
Special hidden cottage very good quality owners should be proud. Good location for Alton towers of walkers in the country
Stayed 3 nights in mid August 2015. On arrival we were a bit confused as the door-type gate from the alley-way entrance was not easy to open (it's not the door shown in the photos). Once inside, the cottage had all we needed: it was immaculately presented and clean. The bed was very comfortable. The shower is spacious - absolutely loved the frosted long window with opener ... birdsong while showering - quite blissful!
Parking is at The Talbot Inn, about 300yds away. They hadn't been notified of our stay so hadn't prepared a permit for us, but parking was quickly agreed. Given the parking arrangements and loading/unloading on the quiet High Street I'd recommend a brolly or waterproofs in the event of rain!
The courtyard is very private, and lovely for a lazy late breakfast in the sunshine.
Locally, everything you might possibly need is on the quaint High Street.
The terrace at the back of The Wheatsheaf has views and evening sun.
The Olive Tree does great food.
Recommend a trip on the Churnet Valley Railway, and a visit to St Giles' RC church in Cheadle - very ornate, by Pugin - the architect of the Houses of Parliament.
We'd certainly stay here if we visit the area again.
We had a lovely stay at Hidden Cottage! The cottage is very well equipped, comfortable and very cosy. There are some lovely touches which made us feel very at home and relaxed straight away, particularly the Christmas tree which kickstarted our Christmas celebrations together! We didn't want to leave and would definitely love to stay again.
Thank you for making our stay so special!
What a wonderful real hidden gem. Beautifully presented cottage. Quiet and secluded. Everything we could have hoped for. Comfy king size bed, lovely furnishings, wifi and a fully equipped kitchen complete with tea, coffee, sugar, milk, salt, pepper, etc. Lovely terrace area outside and so peaceful. Great location for Trentham Estate where we saw the fairy installation and for Dovedale, the walks and scenery are fantastic. The proprietor couldn't';t have been helpful when we asked to extend our stay. Highly recommended. *****

Brilliant cottage, well looked after and comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay. We would recommend to others for a quiet stay away
We stayed for 10 days and enjoyed the sweet little place with the convenient location. Within steps is a bus line. The place was very clean and furnished with every possible thing one would need. Even had needle and thread! The owner was extremely helpful in all ways. I highly recommend the hidden cottage.
