Terrible. Half finished - wires hanging from the ceiling. Rooms shabby and just not worth the price. 'Management' have limited experience and it shows. Some staff were lovely and tried really hard but so obvious that there was no professional guidance or experienced support available to them. Only positive thing is the location which has fabulous views. This will stay in my memory as the worst hotel I have ever stayed in.

Have had to wait this long to do my review of this appalling hotel for many reasons.
We had the misfortune to have been booked in here by a friend, out of necessity not choice. Whilst the Hotel looks rather grand from the front view you need to realise the rooms are beyond this grand facade in little more than an annex type extension.

We paid a deposit for the room - via said friend.

On arrival there was no one around to check us in, give us a key etc etc and once access was organised (very grumpy woman) we opened our door to be greeted by all the mess and smell that the day before's guests had left. This included an unmade bed, beer cans, dirty bathroom - as in hairs and towels in bath, and a rather lovely empty bottle of wine at the external exit door full of spent fag ends. So, after a further trek to 'Reception' (uphill, 100 yards from the entrance we were allowed to use, into the bar of the golf club) to alert the staff to this shambles we went away for a couple of hours.

On return the room had been serviced in the basic sense of the word - there were still sticky coffee cup marks on the battered dresser, spider in corner of room (yes I am afraid of them) together with some other dead creatures in previously constructed webs. The bed whilst 'made' did not have the aroma of a freshly laundered set of sheets either.

Aforementioned coffee cups were unwashed. We washed them in shampoo!! Managed to make a coffee once we unplugged the TV....... Cups were not then replaced after room servicing nor were the sachets of coffee, sugar and milk.

There was no heating in the room, apparently this is governed by the temperature elsewhere in the Hotel and if you're cold unless you ask it will not be provided.

If your say 4 foot 8 then the shower is adequate - if not you need to stoop/bend to allow the water to hit your head. Towels are small, grey and far from fluffy. Add to this the awful lino on the floor thats is lifting - in every sense - Yuck.

Ok - put up with it, this is an occasion we had to attend.

Next day after popping out shopping returned to find we were locked out of our room. Maglock! which is a magnetic lock as the name suggests! All our belongings etc locked in while we were locked out. Another trek to reception where we were informed that all rooms require total prepayment before taking up residence................ and only when we paid in full for our two nights would we be given access. Funny how that wasn't mentioned the night before when we were shown our room. Despite protests from us and a truly awful woman suggesting that we should be checked out immediately if we failed to pay, pay we did. As I have said, an occasion we couldn't miss.

Breakfast consists of dirty cups - literally mucky - croissants from a packet (stale as well) and a very mediocre attempt at customer service which to be honest would always fail based on the mans face - have since learnt he has the name Morris. I misunderstood this initially and thought it was Maurice which did lend itself to a little more in terms of my thoughts of a good waiter/service. Wrong.

Its Morris. As in Minor.

The alarm panel for the main hotel was 'chirping' all night - as no one was available to reset the panel, situated outside in the hallway!

Next day (A SATURDAY), following fitful sleep, we were then awoken further by quad bike with trailer doing who knows what, ongoing building works including cement mixer, someone using a sledge hammer to knock something down, workmens cheery banter (not)....... to say nothing of the overhead guests who I do beleive all were wearing hobnail boots...... every step was like 1000 umpa lumpa's trotting above us,not to mention every word they spoke. Thats fine if you want to be awake at 6am. Sadly we didn't.

We went to the occasion we had to attend. Which was fabulous.

What you need to know is that the occasion I allude to was a Wedding and Reception held at the very same Hotel. This was fabulous simply because of the Wedding Organiser team that were involved, the Hotel staff couldn't even get the right music playing at the right time despite being given explicit instructions. It took the Wedding Organiser team to see to the broken/chipped glasses and have them removed!

There were still workmen in there right up until the cermony began - lights, wires, wet paint and the like. The walkway from the Reception area through to the annex where the rooms were was an absolute shambles - wires hanging everywhere, unsafe flooring, building materials, a disgrace.

Facts are......
They should never have accepted the reservation for the Wedding

They should never have accepted room reservations.

They should never have allowed Morris to do anything.

They need to find better staff.

They need to stop advertising as an Hotel Unlike No Other - there are plenty of awful hotels out there.

Quote....

Our relaxing bedrooms will guarantee you a restful night's sleep in the lake county of Fermanagh. Whether you choose our spacious family rooms or enjoy the comfort of our double/twin rooms, rest assured your stay with us will be an enjoyable and relaxing one.

*** No, it won't *****

Rest assured your stay will be stressful, annoying, dirty...... and that's for starters.

We will NEVER stay here again, I would rather pitch a tent on the golf course which is, at least, very pretty.

Since our departure the deposit has not been forthcoming, friends of ours have been accused of all sorts of things and the Wedding party accused of leaving scuff marks on the newly painted toilet walls.... Really??

Oh and out of interest, we don't drive an 'old scrapper' of a car, weren't out to obtain something for nothing and are capable of holding a conversation with anyone. Shame about Morris and his Grumpy accomplice.

Beyond a joke.

Stayed for one night! Not recommended if you have walking difficulties, it's up steep driveway but u can park real close to hotel. Checked in with some issues about family room my son 15 so doesn't qualify as a child (by law your a child to 13 apparently!!) so had to juggle room options with another guest. Our "family" room had 4 beds in it when looking so didn't understand the problem, issue for issues sake!!?? Had key code for entry to hotel late at night, beds uncomfortable the springs had seen better nights I think!!! Rooms were adequate to sleep bathroom ok. Hotel undergoing renovation it's all kind of half finished, no blinds or curtains in dining room, it just needs finishing! Breakfast was lovely although continental option was sparse only orange juice (I'm allergic so no alternative!) and chocolate croissant individually wrapped were out of date!!! All in all not bad but to be fair it's expensive for half finished hotel with no atmosphere! I've stayed in much better for less!! And my son has always been in same family room with me!!!! Be lovely with some TLC :)

Me and my partner jemma stayed at this fantastic hotel on the 26th of may for 1 night. We had been to alron towers all day amd this is the best kept secret ever. The hotel has stunning views from there fantastic golf course. We got a very warm welcome from staff to golfers. Nothing was too much trouble and we were shown to our room.
This hotel is under renovations and Its being updated and from what we have been told is going to have spa facilities and a swimming pool. This ddnt out us off as our room was stunning and it was quiet which is just what we needed after a fab day at the theme park. We had a continental brekfast there was enough to feed a whole army. We will definatly return and try out the spa when its all done. This hotel is stunning and is breath taking and im glad alton towers hotel was fully booked as we woukd never of found this hotel and for the price your getting luxuary on a budget.

We booked in to stay for one night after a trip to Alton towers. Friendly staff and great location. Rooms had everything we needed and although the hotel was having work done it was still very accommodating and lovely breakfast. Will look forward to going back when it's finished.
Also a excellent pub just a short walk away had a very nice meal in there and the staff were brilliant
