“Late lunch with the wife”
Reviewed September 6, 2013 via mobile

We called in at the Huntsman looking to get a late lunch on a Sunday. We orderd some drinks at the bar as we looked at the menu the barman, a very friendly Irishman, put them on meal tab. My wife orderd Hunters chicken & a I had fish n chips both meals were excellent. We sat in the restaraunt area, althoug could have chosen to sit in the two bar areas. The fish was flaky and fresh with a delicious batter, the chips were chunky & home made. Service was friendly efficacy & quick. The pub was not overly crowded but busy enough to have a buzz about it.
Congratulations to the chef & the team at The Huntsman. I'd certainly recommend this pub for a meal & a good pint of real ale.

“Really nice affordable food”
Reviewed August 26, 2013

We visited here after a day out in Alton Towers. It's about 15 mins away and we found it through trip advisor, we were not disappointed! The menu was good, lots of choice and very good value for money. Some of the main dishes were £5.95 and I expected the portions to be small with this cost, I was wrong - the portions were very generous and all the dishes we had were lovely.

The staff were by friendly and helpful and the pub was clean. Definitely worth a visit.

“Kid friendly pub/ b&b near Alton Towers”
Reviewed April 11, 2013

We had a great stay here last month while visiting Alton Towers, which is only a few minutes away, the large family room was ideal and the restaurant which caters for kids serves the best food I ever had in a pub, I wasn't expecting much from a pub menu, but the choice is as wide as any restaurant. The staff are friendly and had no problem with our kids running about the place. The evenings in the lively pub were very sociable and the choice of real ales was the icing on the cake for me.
