Plus points: It's a lovely clean and convenient place to stay, just off the M6. Great access to motorways, staff are lovely.
Minus points: Lorrys parked up near ur start moving early hours, it can be quite noisy. Nowhere to get food if you happen to arrive after the Burger King on the site closes

Renovated - new carpets, a re-paint, new bathroom fitout, new TVs - and the rooms ended up less functional than before. And what is the point of the silly strip of coloured material on the bed. It serves no purpose but adds to the cost that you and I have to end up paying for.

The lighting is terrible. There is only one ceiling light - and that is near the door - there is no main light in the main room. There are two small lights over the desk/bench but one is fully blocked by the TV screen. The two bedside lights are not bright enough and are useless for light when reading a book in bed.

The desk/bench is far too small. Why does the TV screen take up one third of the desk when it could have been placed right at the end of the desk. And why put the TV screen in front of the mirror?

The bedside shelves are far too small and nigh on useless.

There is plenty of space in the room now that the sofa bed has gone. But why still shove the bed close up to the bathroom wall?

The bathroom has a bath but the bath is so small that it would only be suitable for one of Santa's elves.

Like all Travelodges, you only get one sheet on the bed plus a heavy duvet. It's warm so why do we need a duvet? When will Travelodge wake up and provide a top sheet and a light blanket on the bed.

Travelodge have put the room prices up and are renovating their rooms. What do you get for the price room and a renovated room? A more expensive less functional room, that's what you get.

And finally, the road traffic noise is bad.
