Description: The Alderley is a split-level conservatory on wooded slopes overlooking the Cheshire countryside. The family-run feel of the main sandstone country house is felt here too, where warm browns, gentle lighting and exemplary front-of-house staff make you really rather comfortable. The food's exceptionally good; all freshly made and sourced locally, as the breads and homemade butters testify. Temptations are many, like rump of Cheshire lamb, slow-cooked tomatoes, baby roasted potatoes and garden mint, £23.15, and 'Treacletown' pudding with butterscotch ice cream and toffee sauce, £6.50. Not to mention seared liver and bacon with herb mash and redcurrant jus from the table d'hote lunch menu, £13.95 for two excellent courses. Meals can be scaled up or down, as you like.

“Relaxed Evening With Good Food & Great Wines”
Reviewed September 11, 2013

Visited this restaurant with friends and selected the 7 course taster menu, food was plentiful, tasted delicious and was served with great accompanying wines. Waiter was very friendly and attentive, and the Sommelier was very helpful and obliging in helping us select extra wines to suit our varying tastes. Very relaxed, easy going and comfortable restaurant with an ambient atmosphere. Expensive but well worth it....... You know you have had a great evening when the drinks bill exceeds the food :)

“Best restaurant in the area”
Reviewed August 16, 2013

I don't know why it has taken me so long to write a review about the restaurant in the Alderley Edge Hotel. My wife and I have been dining here for over twenty five years, and with very few exceptions, the standard over the years has remained commendably high. As far as we are concerned, it is not only the best place to eat in Alderley Edge, but probably one of the best in Cheshire.
The restaurant, in a large conservatory room, is most attractive, light and airy, with plenty of space between the tables. The service is attentive and friendly, and the standard of the food is almost invariably superb. It seems to be, that whichever chef is in charge of the kitchen, the quality and presentation of the food is first class. Sunday lunch is a delightful gastronomic and social occasion, as well as excellent value. It makes such an agreeable change to be able to dine in gracious surroundings without the Mrs. Cheshire's "who can laugh loudest" competitions so much in evidence elsewhere in the bars of Alderley Edge and Wilmslow.
The recent addition of the Bistro provides a relaxing and less formal environment, but still with the consistently high standards of food preparation, presentation, and service. The weekday lunch menu offering any three course from the menu for £19.99 represents excellent value. Try the syrup sponge pudding for an object lesson in airy light sponge and amusing presentation.

“Welcoming”
Reviewed August 5, 2013

We were a largish group of friends from different parts of the country getting together for the first time in quite a while. The staff showed great courtesy and patience waiting for our food orders while we got through our greetings and first catch up. A number of of our group were vegetarians and again, the staff and kitchen were very accommodating as we requested variations on the menu. Two of us went right off the menu for omelette and salad. It was delicious. The venue is stylish and comfortable, a lovely setting for our reunion.

“Absolutely Fabulous!!!”
Reviewed July 18, 2013

My Partner and I recently went to the Alderley Restaurant to celebrate our three year anniversary and our experience here was truly fantastic. From when we walked through the door we were made to feel extremely welcome and the evening only got better as the night went on.

The manager was brilliant, looking after our every need, extremely attentive and anticipating our requests before we had even had chance to say anything. The staff also were friendly, polite and helpful.

The food was delicious with every course bettering the previous. There were some fabulous flavour combinations and the plating was neat and innovative.

I would definitely recommend this to anyone and wouldn’t hesitate for a second to come back myself! I cannot describe just how much we both enjoyed our evening and how they helped to make it a truly memorable occasion.

“Best restaurant in south Manchester”
Reviewed June 4, 2013

The main restaurant has an outstanding a la carte menu but is naturally expensive.

We often visit for Sunday lunch when they offer a set menu at a fixed price of around £25 but which retains high standards and changes from week to week. The staff are very professional but welcoming. The fact that you normally need to book 3 weeks in advance for Sunday lunch says it all.
