Four of us dined and not one disappointment! Had mains and a pudding. Both courses were fab, well cooked and presented. £25 per head including fizz is good value. Will definitely be going back...

Great food (we had the ham hock pie & hanging chicken kebab), lovely atmosphere just a shame the service was a tad slow. It was my boyfriend's first visit and he left a happy man!

Thank Jenuno

Our kids arranged the meal, it was my first time there. The atmosphere was very good,we went early doors and it was packed. choice of food was very good, and the staff were excellent . The food presentation was faultless , prices were ok for Alderley Edge ! All in all very good dinning experience . My only moan is that they didn't serve DRAFT cider , but the real ales were ok. Would recomend.

After 2 weeks in Scotland we headed to Manchester to catch our flight home. The Botanist was a delightful find near our B&B. Charming atmosphere. My husband and I both had the chicken kebabs; they were delicious. We were intrigued with the "hanging rack" - should have taken pictures of it - which allowed (if I recall correctly) melted butter to drip over the kebabs. Wait staff was busy as it was a Saturday night, but were friendly and helpful. A great value. We will go out of our way to dine here again. I saved the business card and posted it on my "travel wall" so I can see it everyday!

I ate here on Sunday. There was a roast option or of course the standard menu. Opting for the standard menu, I enjoyed the choices available - Some little twists on otherwise simple food such as miniature Cumberland sausages with mustard dip - Simple, yet so nice to eat! My fiancé had a chicken volavant - delicious. As a sharing starter, they were great!

Main course was prawn kebabs (giant BBQ ones on a skewer) and a perfect steak, cheddar and sweet onion pie, both served with the best French fries I'd had in ages, lightly salted and herbed.

Puddings were classic - chocolate praline mousse, sticky toffee pud, banana split etc.. everything was presented very well - not OTT, and not TOO much food - just the right amount, which is good. There is an extensive drinks list, with a great little almanac of beers to choose from - Try a wheat one with your lunch.

The décor is amazing, it feels smart casual but also has a feeling of a kind of laid back lounge restaurant - not at all pretentious. A singer came on half way through our lunch, modern songs such as Coldplay & Jake Bugg, but all acoustic, not overpowering, just a good background sound.

Price wise, we had 3 courses, plus 3 drinks & a bottle of fizzy water, for £53.00 which you can't grumble at considering we were more than content and suitably full - especially in Alderley Edge!!

The service was good too - just the right amount of attention but not too much. The staff are all polite and friendly and do the place well. Can't wait to go back.
