I have family in Stockport and my husband arranged for us to stay here arranged by his work.

First impresssion was great, easy parking and a friendly welcome.

The reception staff was excellent when i enquired about a taxi, they enquired about prices and booked it for us.

The suite we had was called the Capesthorne.
The room was very tidy and well housekept. The minibar came in handy lol!

Food in the restaurant was outstanding! The food was prepared and presented excellently! The waitress and waiter where attentive - I never had an empty glass! lol

Breakfast was also first class - a great variety to choose from - even porridge!

I definately would stay again on my next family visit.

I went home in high spirit from staying here.

This hotel has a very high opinion of itself positioning itself as a leading country house hotel. It is not, it is a pleasant family run town hotel. Decor is Victorian, rooms pleasant, great showers. Staff friendly and helpful. My overwhelming memory of this hotel was the officious notice in the Bedroom warning guests not to discard syringes, sharps or needles in the bin. My colleagues and I thought it was all rather odd. We are very well travelled business people and have never seen this before.

A very enjoyable Saturday night stay. Staff very helpful and pleasant. Dinner absolutely excellent! The only slight negative would be the size of the room - very small. However it was extremely comfortable and very quiet, overlooking the hotel gardens. Would definitely stay again.

I felt I had to respond to the review of the previous gentleman. We had a wonderful stay (2 nights) at this hotel to attend my godaughters wedding, the staff could not have been more helpful and helped to make it a memorable occaison. As for the food the wedding breakfast was superb and they had an excellent choice of hot or cold breakfasts which was served in a lovely setting. The suites we stayed in were tastefully decorated and very comfortable as were the standard rooms. There is also a delightful garden at the rear where you could have drinks (weather permitting) I have been back on two separate visits and have enjoyed both. The Alderley Edge is a very popular hotel and is nearly always fully booked early bookings are advisable.

Business regularly takes me to the Manchester region, and I have spent numerous nights at this hotel. A year ago I switched to another one in the area. Why? Because I was always treated as a stranger regardless of how many times I had stayed here - no smile of recognition, nothing. A secondary reason are the tiny, feminine rooms possibly suited for a romantic weekend but less so for a business traveller wanting to do some work in the evening (Alderley Edge is a fairly quiet place). On the positive side, the hotel offers reasonable food and a nice breakfast.
