We go to this restaurant possibly twice a month and we do really like the place.
Normally our visits are on the way back from the airport as we both travel regularly. We live 25 miles south so it's not as easy to just spontaneously pop in. We always enjoy the food and atmosphere and have tried quite a few dishes on the menu all of which have been enjoyable.
So, it was a change for us to plan a Saturday night with parents and actually book a table in advance. We arrived early and it was packed, which, I guess is what you would expect for a Saturday night. We were shown to our table after we had had a cocktail at the bar. It was only 5 mins after our booking time and I was impressed as it was so busy.
Things then began to slow down a little and although all the staff (all young and good looking!) we're very pleasant and polite, they were rushed off their feet and less attentive than we experience mid-week. The food was still good but we had to wait a long time for it and because of this, I've docked a point!
A final point: Although it's great to have live entertainment, we all thought that the singer/pianist was too loud and poor - perhaps if she had been good, the volume would be less of an issue. We really had to shout to each other during the meal to be heard when she was on!
The bill was reasonable, especially with the discount we get from the Blackhouse card.
We'll still be there again in the next few weeks but perhaps not on a Saturday night.
