The Grill on the Edge is a Blackhouse (chain) restaurant. This does not mean, though, that the food is pre-prepared, or not tasty.
The menu is very full, catering to all tastes and appetites. We were drawn here for lunch by chance and liked the look of the outside menu. The surprise was that there is a lunchtime main course and drink special menu: which we opted for. Before then, though, we chose an English sparkling rosé as an aperitif. Sadly, nibbles are an (expensive) extra.
Although there is a full range of starters,- eg soups, calamars, spring rolls, foie gras, etc - we decided on a main course only. The offer included a choice of bacon & cheese Mac, club sandwich with chips, cheese burger, steak sandwich, fish & chips and grilled hake risotto (our choice). Drinks choices included wines, beers and water. The risotto was just OK but the hake was superbly grilled, with a crispy skin. It was a large portion (for us). The house Malbec was excellent.
The sweets list looked tempting - rhubarb fool, crême brulée, cheesecake, etc, plus cheeseboard. We had an affogato ristretti amaretto with vanilla ice cream and a "jaffa cake" liqueur from the 'and so to bed' menu: both very good.
Waiting staff were welcoming and helpful. All in all a recommended dining place.
