Description: "Alderley Edge – home to some of the nation’s most famous sporting faces, not to mention some of the most demanding diners in the North West. This is where Italian restaurant Gusto steps up to the bar. Taking 1950s New York Italian restaurants as inspiration Gusto has a filmic atmosphere thanks not only to clean, stylish décor but to the raft of slim, glamorous girls sipping wine and comparing the contents of their shopping bags. In the summer Gusto is the perfect place to people watch with a sun-trap terrace just the spot to enjoy a lingering lunch. Every dish on the classic Italian menu is freshly prepared and delicious, a welcome change from the pre-cooked chain pizza. "

Great place to eat in the heart of Alderley edge. It is reasonably priced and is in a great location. Parking can be difficult but that's standard for Alderley!

A few months ago we had poor service here and although we've been back a few times since we had a very good experience on Sunday lunch. It was a it quieter than usual and we had lovely seats and good food. We were celebrating too and it was quite nice to enjoy the whole experience.

Myself, my husband and our 2 daughters (2 & 5) ate here on a sunday afternoon. It was delicious. A local lady recommended it to us and we were not disappointment, We were staying at mottram hall for the night and decided to stop for lunch on the way home. The staff were very friendly and felt completely at ease in there with the children. We will definitely be going again.

The waiter was very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is lively and upbeat. We liked the calamari - just how it should be - tender and a light, crispy thin coating. The meatballs starter was poor - the sauce was poorly unseasoned and bland and the meatballs were tasteless. The garlic pizza bread was fine - a crispy base but chewy over thick corners. The fish main course was good. The pizza main course was bad - soggy undercooked base and thick doughy unpleasant edges. The thing we most enjoyed were the courgette matchstick fritters side dish - we'll just have those next time. Shame the pizza was so bad. I ate here in June and it was much the same story - some good and some bad. Then one of the pasta dishes was poor and the Thermidor sauce on the lobster tasted like English mustard which the manageress agreed was awful and took off the bill. So in summary, this place is hit and miss and disappointing.

We visited gusto for my sons birthday meal, we have been many times before and have always found the food very good. This time we took family members that had not been before they were impressed with how nice the venue was and how good the food was, good service & Friendly staff.
