We were only at Elme Hall for one night but so glad we choose this hotel. The family room was large with double bed, bunk beds and a sofa bed. It was warm and clean and the bed was very comfortable. Our corner room faced the busy main road and also the rear of the hotel, but the traffic noise did not disturb us and the big lights facing the hotel (and shining at our windows) were turned off so we had a great nights sleep. We decided to eat in the restaurant to save driving and this proved to be a good choice as the service was first class and the food excellent. My filet steak was cooked perfectly and was so tasty! We had coffee in the lounge which had big sofas to relax on while letting our dinner go down. Breakfast was also really good with plenty of choice from continental to full English and the manager was great, telling us to ask for anything else we wanted. My husband and daughter asked for fried and poached eggs which were brought to the table immediately. Now the best and most surprising end to our stay. As we were finishing breakfast the waitress brought out two packed lunches for the children, a sandwich, apple, bag of crisps and a drink each for our journey home! This has never happened at any hotel we have ever stayed at before and was such a nice gesture and also vey welcome and came in handy after we had been on the road for a couple of hours. What a thoughtful thing to do! Finally all the staff were helpful and pleasant. When I requested an extra pillow it was brought up to our room in minutes. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Stayed for valentines dinner + night. They had a great deal on for that night. We selected to stay in the Lodges, Newly built block of rooms, very clean and warm, bed was very comfy good TV lights were sensible for a little reading. We could have opted for luxury at twice the price (that will come at our next stay here). Greeted in main hotel with glass of bubbly to take to our table, The food hot when it should by and cold when we had sorbet. Service was adequate, with a smile asking if we needed anything more.
With a little more training the service would have earned EXCELLENT.

Room Tip: Go for main hotel rooms for luxury, lodge for a bed.

I would like to thank both Kevin & his team of staff for making a Valentines night to remember. From the friendly greeting of the front desk staff on arrival, through to the crisp white sheets on our 4 poster bed, memorable.
The 4 course Valentines dinner was beautiful, faultless! I do not eat meat, but the chef this morning prepared me scambled eggs & mushrooms which arrived with toast, very nice. My husbands full english again was faultless. We could of choosen from several types of cereal, yogurts, fresh fruit, cold meats & cheeses.
Our son has just got engaged and I picked up a couple of leaflets on Weddings, which he may find very useful.
We are local to the area, yet do like to stay away several times during the course of the year, I would not like to think this was our last visit to Elm Hall Hotel
When you book, ask for room 201, it faces the back of the hotel and has no noise through the night at all!

Booked a weekend in January, but was unable to go due to my wife being ill. When I called to cancell, assuming that I would lose my money, was surprised that they offered to rebook for another weekend. All the staff were very helpfull, cheerfull and happy to answer any requests. The room was very spacious and well laid out. En-suite was smallish, but adequate. Food was well prepared. Although there was a disco on Saturday night, and we could hear the music in the room, it didn't keep us awake.

Room Tip: Rooms 202 and 203 are the big ones.

As we were staying for 1 night on business the hotel overall was OK but was very soulless. Our rooms were in a single story annexe not attached to the hotel and only accessible via a car park full of snow.
Electric convector heater in the room (all or nothing), shower was great, good pressure and red hot.
Restaurant OK but a little overpriced but at least we didn't have to find a restaurant in a strange town which is always a gamble and time consuming.

To sum up I'd say OK for a business trip stay for 1 night but at £73 a night for a single room which seemed to be modelled on the usual Travelodge format you could do better with a little Internet searching.

Thank you for your kind review, it's nice to see our New Lodge is performing it's intended function of providing Budget Business accomodation as an upmarket ("Posh") alternative to other "Lodge Style" establishments.
I can only apologise for the snow fall, however just like the Airports, Trains, Schools and Supermarkets and indeed the rest of Great Britain we are prone to snow at this time of year, we however remained open offering hospitality services for those guests displaced by the weather.
The heating like the showers is controlled by the individual thermostats located in each guest room, the guest can adjust for their own rcomfort levels. I am glad the shower pressure was good, again this can be adjusted by the guest.
In response to your other points I make the following comments.
Like other Lodge style operations, our food and beverages (other than the complimentary in-room hospitality tray) are provided in the Main Hotel building, here we have 3 bars and two restaurants and a resident's lounge with an open fire.
The main Hotel rooms are of a traditional style but on a different price range sytarting at £88.00. Our Lodge room rate of £74.00 is for a double lodge room with single occupancy and includes complimentary parking, Wi-Fi, a full breakfast a total cost to a business traveller of just £61.66 after claiming back their VAT.
Our restaurant offers an 3 course Fixed Price Table d'Hote menu changing daily for £11.95 (£12.50 inc wine) Sunday lunch at £7.95 and local micro brewery real ale from £2.50 a pint.
I think we are very competitive for an AA 3-Star rated Hotel and would be happy to discuss the points raised with you at any time.

We have just returned from spending New Year's Eve at Elme Hall.We stayed with four friends and really enjoyed the party. The evening buffet was fantastic. Fresh meat, fresh salmon and everything you could wish for.The staff were all excellent and made you feel welcome and at home. The rooms were spotless and the beds very comfortable. Good sized bathroom with everything supplied. Breakfast again was excellent, all freshly cooked and served with a smile. What better way to start a new year, and if everything else turns out as well as our stay here it will be a good 2013.
Thanks to all of you. Best wishes from John & Shirley Fowler.

We had to stay in the Wisbech area from last Friday through to Monday at short notice as our autistic son was moved to a specialist hospital in the area. I had stayed there before on business so knew it would be good to have stay there.
The staff were very accomodating, pleasant and could n't do enough for us.
They upgraded our room to a bigger room in the main house for a very small fee.
My wife who was stressed out was able to eat and enjoy the food which we had delivered to our room. The wines we had were good value and some of the best I have sampled this year.
Overall a pleasant experience was had to temper a difficult time for us and our son.

Room Tip: If there is a function on avoid the rooms above the function rooms. In fairness the staff made us aw...
