We also had a Groupon deal to this resturant and it was an excellent deal as we were also staying at Tall Trees campsite just up the road.

The staff are very friendly and greated us warmly on arriving.

We thought we'd only get a glass of wine each, but no, we got a full bottle to go with the most tasty steak I've had in a while.

Huge plate portions, well worth the money even without the Groupon deal.

I would definitely eat here again.

“Visited with Friends on a Groupon Deal”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

Our friends live in nearby March and they wanted to try this Restaurant. We were greeted with a warm welcome and I must presume that the lady that attended to us at the table was also and owner. Most definitely the rest of the menu looked good. Plenty of choice and reasonably priced, but because we had a groupon voucher we were steered towards the Steak. We all chose the 10oz Rump which would normally be £14 and a bottle of wine was included in the deal. Side orders and other things were paid for separately but still very good value for money.
The puddings were better than excellent and all round satisfying.
All the Steaks were cooked to perfection and we didn't have one plate with anything left on.
This place is off the beaten track but beats a lot of the big chains at Value for Money. We will no doubt give the other items on the menu another try when we visit our friends again.
Well done to the staff

“Lacked the little things like side plates and butter”
Reviewed August 29, 2013

I purchased a Groupon steak and wine deal.
We upgraded and had 2 starters, side order of onion rings and 2 sauces from the menu at full price. Whitebait and home made corned beef pate for starters. We waited qiute a while despite being the only 2 eating. I expected some bread and butter with my whitebait. Not so, just a bowl of very well done very crunchy whitebait. Almost impossible to eat with cutlery. No side plates just the bowl. My partner had the corned beef pate with homemade chutney which was lovely. However, the 3 slices of toasted bagette which accompanied it were so dry we had to ask for some butter, this arrived almost rock hard and not spreadable. The wine was luke warm not just room temperature and had a film on top when poured. We left that. The steaks quickly followed the starters being cleared. Both on the well done side, not medium rare as requested. My dog enjoyed the tough bits and grissle when we took it home in a doggy bag. The onion rings were delicious as were the sauces, my stilton and cream sauce was a treat and my partner enjoyed his Diane sauce too.The voucher was £19. The starters and sauces £15.95. Very disappointed after the good reviews, we won't be going back.
