We visited in April and the gardens were just coming into bloom so we decided to visit again in July. Unfortunately as we arrived the heavens opened and we had to spend extra time in the house waiting for it to stop. The volunteers were very helpful and we got a recommendation for somewhere to eat in the evening. When were able to get into the gardens we were not disappointed, the roses were magnificent in spite of the rain.
