We visited in April and the gardens were just coming into bloom so we decided to visit again in July. Unfortunately as we arrived the heavens opened and we had to spend extra time in the house waiting for it to stop. The volunteers were very helpful and we got a recommendation for somewhere to eat in the evening. When were able to get into the gardens we were not disappointed, the roses were magnificent in spite of the rain.

This was a superb venue for our wedding and are so pleased that we opted for this rather than a church. The setting was so intimate and the team their were so organised and attentive that we didn't have to worry about a thing. We used the piano in situ and were given access to this for practice in advance of the wedding. All of our guest commented on how special they found the venue and once the ceremony was over we had full access to the beautiful gardens that provided the perfect back drop for our photos.

Really helpful and informative staff - not at all stiff like some NT places. Far better than the NT's brochure and website suggests. And you're even allowed to play the Bechstein...!!

We went at Christmas when there were christmas trees decorated by local people in every room. The garden was nice even in December and we enjoyed our afternoon.

History of the house. History of the extensive gardens. Lovely thatched, tythe barn for tea, cakes and light refreshment. A real must do Jewel in the Crown of the Fens. Intriguing history of Quaker family benevolence to Wisbech area.
