Spent a good hour here viewing the well ordered displays. Gives a good reflection of the area's past, and for us just about the right size for a museum - not too large to be tedious, not too small to be a waste of time. There are special exhibitions from time to time; and we were fortunate to see one from local textile artists - and so we spent a further 1/2 hour looking at some wonderful work.
The building is interesting - purpose built as a museum. One notices the clear evidence of distortion in the exterior brickwork caused by some settlement from being built on the former moat of Wisbech Castle.

We dropped in to hide from the weather for a couple of minutes and spent well over an hour going round. There are many different collections from local photos to the links with the anti- slavery movement, from flaura and fauna to woodcarvings. There is an interesting military section relating to local regiments.
This is a real gem tucked away. It has blue badge parking, and street level access. Also there is a lift available - check the website for these and other details.

Well worth a visit for killing time in Wisbech or as an attraction in itself. The museum has some very interesing exhibits including from the famous Wisbech and Upwell Tramway items, a line beloved of the writer of the Thomas stories and one of the lineslocomotives features in his books.

The Museum is a must visit for all Tramway enthusiasts, there are also some nice Egyptian artifacts worth seeing.

Suprisingly free to get in as well, excellent value for money.!
