We booked both cottages for our wedding party as friends and family were coming from many different places and we wanted to spend time with them and have the room to do so. In this respect the Whitehouse was very good and it was great to have the garden to sit in and celebrate the day. The cottages were clean and tidy however there were a lot of small niggles that need to be addressed. A lot of the party stated that the beds were not comfy with the small double bed in the large cottage in particular needing to be replaced. The cottages were showing signs of wear and tear (eg rips in the plastic tablecloths). The trouble seems to be that in the week the rooms are booked out to workmen who work locally in the area and then go home at weekends. I can understand that this is bread and butter income to the Whitehouse but they need to decide whether this is the avenue they wish to carry on down ie effectively a B&B or whether they wish to pursue the self catering cottage end of the market. To us the two do not mix. This was evidenced by the provision of breakfast items. When we arrived these were in both cottages and wrongly we assumed they would be replenished every day. It should be made clear. If you are self catering then why provide...if you are B&B these should be provided every day. The Whitehouse has lots of potential but it needs to decide what it is.
Thank you Fleur and Paul for a fantastic stay, you supplied everything to make our stay really special

8 of my friends and I recently stayed at The Whitehouse Guesthouse in St Neots and after just two nights, we are already contemplating our next trip.
Straight from booking our stay the owner, Fleur, was fantastic and answered all of my questions and queries about the property. We arrived to a welcome pack of freshly baked cupcakes, a bottle of wine, pastries and other personal touches that made us know we had found a homely and unique place to stay.
The property itself is perfect for a group of 8-9 people. There are two large communal areas to relax/ drink/ eat/ play games, 5 perfectly sized bedrooms and 3 recently refurbished bathrooms (we were there to take part in the ‘Midlands’ Tough Mudder so having multiple bathrooms was very welcome!).
The owner really couldn’t help you enough and was forever ‘on-call’ for welcome interaction regarding things to do/ places to eat. There was even a moment during our stay when Fleur offered to pick us up from a restaurant as we were having a problem getting a cab. Her hospitality truly knows no limits!
I can’t recommend this property enough, it’s ideal for those who want to relax (as we did on the Sunday) or for those wanting a beautiful space/ base camp before a day full of activities (like our Saturday).
