I held a stakeholder conference here and it is a beautiful venue with lots of character. The staff were very helpful and food provided was excellent.

my wife and i drove down to cambridge for the weekend from staffordshire, we joined a large group of nearly 50 to sample what chilford vineyard had to offer & what more i could learn about winemaking.our tour started in the bistro at which time we were served tea & coffee ,our tour started at 10.30 and began with a 10 minute stroll down to the vineyard through rolling cambridgeshire yes rolling hills, don't let anyone tell you cambidge is flat i only wish the weather had been kinder but then it is october.
Our tour guide vanessa was well versed in all aspects of wine making including grape varieties and every single stage from vine to glass ,it was unfortunate we were unable to enter winery itself but i understand from my previous visits to other wineries around the world this was not possible due to possible contamination .
We were served a fantastic lunch which followed sampling several wines from chilford's collection " GREAT WINES" my wife loves the sparkling rose' we'll be back next summer as we'd love to look at the winery .and is well worth the visit perhaps with a few of our friends next time .

Six of my girlfriends and I were really excited to spend two hours of our afternoon learning about winemaking at Chilford Hall. The moment we stepped into the bistro we were treated absolutely horribly by the staff. According to the website, the tour/tasting was supposed to last from 3-5pm. They cut it short due to a recent sanitization of the fermenting/bottling facility so we were unable to see that. We were fine with it as long as we could hang out and enjoy a bottle of wine while waiting for our taxi. The staff was extremely rude and took our glasses of wine and asked us to close our tabs. We couldn't believe it, they would even let us finish the wine that we purchased from them! To add insult to injury, once we piled into our taxi and were heading down the long vineyard road, the staff, in their cars, flew past us one by one through the grassy shoulder. We were in complete shock at the treatment we received and will never understand why.

The wine tour was a present and we picked Chilford Hall. I had previously visited the lavish surroundings of Denbies in Surrey and this, on first views, looked a much smaller and less sophisticated affair but...

The tour was good - very interesting touur of the vines themselves where the guide was brutally honest about the mistakes thathad been made. Despite several vineyard tours in the UK and France, I did learn new things.

The tasting was very well arranged. In other places they place the wine on counters or on top of barrels and there is a bunfight as people push to ensure they get some! Here we were seated, provided information and then talked through each wine in relaxing way - a much better way that others could learn from.

The wine itself was pleasant and drinkable - the sparkling was good and the 'blush' was also good.
