We come to Winslow every few months because my mother-in-law lives in the town. We came to this deli to enliven her larder and fridge. Obviously this is not a busy town or more than averagely prosperous and there is a big Tescos this side of Buckingham. Maybe Estrella survives on the outside catering and hamper trade but the selection and balance of food in the shop was dispiriting. Turnover and demand must be the key to varied and fresh stock but on the early late weekday afternoon we came in the feel was underlit and sleepy. The breads were ordinary, very predictable tins cartons and jars. A few expensive but underwhelming cakes. Having hoped to take her back the components of a sparkling tea and the basis of a week of delights we came away with several pieces of cheese and not much else. The lady at the counter was friendly and helpful.
