Went for a valentines meal at this cosy, friendly pub. The pub itself is very picturesque, sitting on the green with the background of the church. The landlord and landlady are really friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble (even my fussiness over wine!). The locals in the bar were very friendly, and we had a chat and a laugh with them before our meal, sitting by the roaring fire. The food was divine and not what I had expected for the price. The venison in particular was better than I had ever had. I could not finish the vast cheese board and they kindly packaged it up for me to take home, along with chocolates and a rose. What a wonderful experience, we WILL be returning!!!
