The gardens are full of contrast- lots of colour, especially in the Secret Garden. For the brave there is also a maze to ponder. There are lots of walks some leading down to the River Thames but I thought that the Parterre was fairly plain. Stand on the veranda and just think about all the famous people in history who have also stood on the veranda. You can visit the inside of the house (it is now a hotel) by prior appointment. There is a cafe, toilets etc. A good trip for a sunny afternoon.
