Visited Stoke Park Spa for the Afternoon Tea Package with my fiance.... Service appalling. Have been a few times in the past as well and found experience ok but average. Waited well over an hour for tea to arrive despite chasing a few times. Most of our time spent chasing and complaining rather than relaxing. Some sandwiches dry, toilet needs more frequent checking and cleaning, crumbs left on table, front desk unmanned at times.....all things that make this spa fall well short of expectations. Would not go back again!

I had a two night stay, which was outstanding. The setting is perfect, whether it's for the golf or the facilities that are on offer.

The service was first class. A friendly attentiveness, that made me feel very welcome. The Spa and gym are extremely impressive and well thought out.

My meal was to die for, great food in beautiful surroundings. The result was that the other guests seemed to be in a great mood, because we all felt so good. People were chatty and friendly.

A unique British experience - there is still quality in this country!! From check-in to check-out we experienced both great service and amazing attention to detail. The setting of this property together with the buildings themselves lent an air of luxury and relaxation to our stay.
The room, as well as being beautifully finished was also very comfortable - it's hard however to tear yourself away from the windows and the views beyond.
Afternoon tea was delicious - and that wasn't just because we indulged in champagne!
Can highly reccommend this as a destination in itself - even if you're not inclined to spoil a good walk with a game of golf!

We stayed at the Stoke Park Hotel and Club at the start of our trip to the UK. Our flight did not arrive till 10:30 pm so by the time we made it through customs and got our rental car
it was almost midnight before we arrived. The hotel is very convenient to the airport, it just took a while at the car rental place. (tip: book your car at an on airport location and double check the closing times. Thrifty is off airport and their shuttle stopped at 10pm even though they knew our flight landed at 10:30. when I finally found the number to call he refused to send the shuttle back, it was almost 30 pounds for the cab and they tried to charge 40 pounds for a Late check in. In short don't use Thrifty at the Heathrow airport) I thought Stoke Park would be a great place to unwind and relax for a couple of days after traveling in from Oklahoma.....and it was. The desk clerk was waiting, helped us with our bags, offered to get us anything we wanted from the bar, food ect.. and took us up to the top floor to the Tudor room. Our room was great, it overlooked the back of the hotel, golf course, and in the distance the next morning you could see Windsor Castle, and the flag was flying. Our room had a mix of antique and new furniture, large king bed, fire place (which we did not need the weather was perfect). The bathroom had a claw tub and stand alone shower, lots of marble. Behind the flat screen TV there is a door leading out to very small deck over looking the out side eating and golf course, It did not look like any of the other rooms on the top floor had this. All of the rooms below us had a veranda with tables and chairs overlooking the golf course, I think these are the nicer suite rooms, which would be worth it if it where a honeymoon, although the veranda looked like it was shared with the other rooms. (Check on that before you book if you are looking for privacy). The breakfast was very nice, and it is ok to eat outside if the weather is good, watching the golfers going by is great. I booked a spa treatment for my husband and I which I would advise doing ahead of time. It was not packed with people but you may not get the time you want if you wait. The spa and club are beautiful and you have use of it all. Large indoor pool, really nice indoor and outdoor tennis courts, steam room, it had it all, and use the relaxation room after your treatments it was a great added touch. Fantastic service at this hotel and spa, friendly people. There was a wedding on Saturday night and it was fun watching the bride and groom come in with the bagpipes playing, guests arriving with their beautiful british style hats, they had drinks on the back ground floor veranda, I peeked into the reception hall, pretty, nice job....Very "Four Wedding and a Funeral".(the movie) I loved it.... For two nights our room was about 500 pounds,( US terms that's almost $1000.00) Yes, that's alot but would do it again. I did not book the least expensive room, but here I think you would be ok if you did.

On the weekend my boyfriend treated me to a lovely weekend at Stoke Park. I had been there previously with a work conference but never leisure. It was a great way to spend the long weekend. The hotel is set on beautiful grounds. When I was at the conference the service was no where near the service I received during our recent visit. We stayed in the new building where there is also the health spa which is just what anyone wants on a weekend away!!! I would like to make special mention to Howard in the restaurant, not only was the food great the service was AMAZING!!! The hotel has certainly reached another level since last year, I would highly recommend it!!!

This is a wonderful old building, and as such has some of the drawbacks of staying in a wonderful old building! Our room had a very comfortable bed but the rest of it was a little out of date ... rather small TV, no mini-bar and slightly tatty furniture.

The staff were very attentive and helpful and the spa and the treatments we had there were excellent.

The food was good, and again service was very attentive.

However, the best bit has to be the building. Walking down that grand staircase from our room was like being in a stately home and joining others for dinner in one of those period dramas.

We recently stayed here for my 40th birthday weekend. We were in the main house which could do with a lick of paint and a tidy up outside but inside its historic charm prevails. Our room was gorgeous with a huge bed, marble bathroom, sofa and fireplace. I'm also inclined to agree that its unusual for such a place not to have tea/coffee facilities in the room but it didn't bother us greatly.

One gripe however was that it was freezing cold and there was an air con vent blowing constant cold air into the room. We asked twice for it to be switched off or turned onto warm but to no avail. We overcame the problem by hanging a bathrobe in front of it and keeping the fire on all night which was actually quite romantic with the wind and rain outside!

We ate in the restaurant the next evening and the same problem occurred - to the extent that one lady kept her coat on throughout her meal. However this time the staff were excellent and, although there seemed to be some sort of problem with the air con, they brought in a heater which did take the chill off the room and allow us to enjoy the excellent food and surroundings.

Interestingly, the heating was on in our room the second night so the fire wasn't needed. We concluded that it comes on on 1st November and not before!

The spa facilities in the new building are exellent and, even though they were apparently fully booked, it never seemed busy or overcroweded - we managed to get the pool to ourselves for about an hour. It does seem to be a good idea to book treatments in advance though as they only just managed to squeeze us in for one treatment each.

Overall, we had a fantastic weekend which was helped by friendly and helpful staff and wonderful surroundings. We didn't want to leave! We would definitely go again but probably in the warmer weather!
