We visited this restaurant for lunch yesterday - it was one of the best meals out we've had for a long time, in lovely surroundings and with very attentive staff.

My wife and I shared the antipasto platter for a starter. She then had spaghetti with king prawns as a main. I had a wonderful dish called small plates - almost like tapas - there are about 8 items in the small plates, and you can have any number of them - I had 3, Risotto Carbonara, Arancini (which are crispy Risotto balls) and Calzones. They were all fantastic. My wife then had the frozen yoghurt for dessert, and I had the special, which was praline tiramisu - exquisite!

Our 5 year old granddaughter had the kids menu, which was a salad for starters, pineapple pizza for main, and ice cream for dessert. She declared it all rather delicious!

The staff were amazingly attentive - very polite, and our granddaughter was quite taken with the fact that the main waiter introduced himself by name - 'they don't normally tell you there name, do they Grandad?'!!

All in all, highly recommended, and we will be back!

I have tried and tried again this restaurant in Buckingham, convinced that there must be a good standard to this chain. It is, however, consistently terrible - staff rude, non attentive and leave you waiting ages. We were left waiting 45minutes one time for them to collect our plates and deliver the main course. We could deal with bad service if the food is ok, but last time we went the chicken in two of the dishes was off and stinking. The waiter refused to acknowledge this and apologise. Give Prezzo Buckingham a miss - try the excellent independent Italian opposite - Prego.

The idea of going to a restaurant which is part of a large chain usually allows you some guarantee of a certain standard of food! This is not true of Prezzo in Buckingham! Everytime i have given it another chance it fails! Food over cooked, or oily, sauces upset your stomach(!) plus waiting staff not very friendly is a recipe for a bad experience!
Go elsewhere there are plenty of much better restaurants in Buckingham!

We've had mixed experiences with this Prezzo, but it is our nearest and at it's best can be quite good so we subjected ourselves to it on Sunday evening. Never again. It was the worst meal we have had in years.

We were initially seated in the modern tiled area with a loud speaker blasting out at a ridiculously high volume directly above the table such that we had to shout to hear each other. Not a good ambience. We asked for the speaker to be turned down and the waiter just said "no" as it wouldn't then be possible to hear it at the other side of the restaurant so we asked if they had a different table. He was initially very negative about this too, but in the end they both turned the music down and also moved us to another table a few minutes later.

Service was initially very good and snappy, our main courses arrived and most of them were OK, but one of the Margharita Pizzas arrived from the kitchen smothered with black pepper much to the discomfort of my son. No idea why they did this when black pepper is provided on the table for those who prefer seasoning and we've never experienced this in a Prezzo before.

At that point service disintegrated anyway, the waiter never visited the table again prior to clearing the mains. When he did, he ignored the 3/4 uneaten pizza on my son's plate and asked in an insincere way if everything was OK. We explained about the Pizza and he simply shrugged and walked away, saying nothing at all. He later returned and put desert menus on the table and then ignored us for the rest of the evening. To be fair he was a little pre-occupied in a massive row with the kitchen staff over the servery counter about another table's order for several minutes and involving most of the restaurant staff. I guess it is OK for the restaurant staff to scream at each other in front of customers so long as they do it in a foreign language! The restaurant manager just looked on nervously from a distance as all of this was going on and did nothing to intervene.

In the end we got fed up with the sideshow (and being ignored) went to the counter to get our bill and pay and then had desert at home! Not good.
